We welcome Brandon Shire to 3 Chicks After Dark to discuss his new serial, The Love of Wicked Men!
Wicked Men, Hot Lovers, and How You Can Take Part
There’s been some buzz about my new erotic gay romance title, The Love of Wicked Men. Most of that buzz has come from the fact that I’m serializing this novel and inviting readers in to influence the story as it is being written. Apparently, within the M/M genre this is something of a novelty. In other genres, scifi particularly, asking for reader input is old hat.
I’ve been warned by writers and readers alike that I’m probably setting myself up for a major headache. Not that M/M readers have diverse opinions (or are very vocal about them), but, let’s face it, we’re all pretty opinionated when it comes to what we want to read. I’m no exception.
What is Wicked Men about?
It’s an erotic journey into the underbelly of the legal profession, the corporate culture of profit-at-any-cost, and the secret world of industrial espionage.
The characters are not particularly nice people, hence the title. They are vain, corrupt, contemptuous, and look down on almost everyone around them because of their wealth and power.
Does that mean they aren’t redeemable?
No. It means the characters need a lesson in humility, which you’re invited to help them get.
Are they cheating on each other?
No. Beta readers have been very vocal about this already. There are no cheaters in this story; almost all of the characters are single.
What do you mean by serialized fiction?
This means the story will come out in episodes, like TV shows do. Every six to eight weeks I’ll put out a new episode. I’ll read the input I receive from readers, and then try to incorporate that into the story.
Does that mean the story isn’t written yet?
The story is not written in full. I have the general thread of the story in my head and an outline of each episode, but reader input will influence how the story finally gets printed. Beta readers have already changed a few things with their suggestions.
What if I want the book all at one time, instead of in parts?
For readers who prefer the whole book at once, I’ve set up a special one-time email to let them know when the book is complete.
Where can we offer input and ask questions?
Goodreads. My fans have created a group which you’re invited to become a part of. We set up a thread especially for Wicked Men. (Note: Even though Wicked Men is erotic, the group is open and therefore SFW.) If you’re not on GR, you can contact me at any of my online social profiles. See my website for links. BrandonShire.com (Note: I’m not on Facebook.)
Will I pay more if I buy each episode of Wicked Men?
Absolutely not. The price of the complete book will correspond to the total number of episodes. At this time, I expect six episodes, but that may change with reader input.
Where/When can I get the first episode?
The first episode of Wicked Men is available from Amazon now! It will be free for KU users.
Have more questions? Contact me through the Goodreads group above. I look forward to hearing from you!
