Hi! I’m J.A. Rock, and right now I’m touring the internet talking about my latest release The Subs Club—Book 1 in The Subs Club series. Thanks so much to the blogs that are hosting me on this tour, and be sure to leave comments on the tour posts for a chance to win your choice of two backlist ebooks and a $10 Amazon gift card!
A year ago, my best friend Hal died at the hands of an incompetent “dom.” So I started the Subs Club, a private blog where submissives can review doms and call out the douche bags.
A perfect example of the kind of arrogant asshole I mean? The Disciplinarian. He has a pornstache. He loves meat, stoicism, America, and real discipline. And he thinks subs exist to serve him.
But . . . not everything about him is awful. His Davy Crockett act just seems like a cover for his fear of intimacy, and part of me wants to show him it’s okay to get close to people. And, I mean, sue me, but I have fantasized about real discipline. Not role-play, but like, Dave, you’re gonna be thirty in four years and you still work in a mall; get your ass in gear or I’ll spank it.
Not that I’d ever trust anyone with that kind of control.
I’m gonna redefine “battle of wills” for the Disciplinarian. Or I’m gonna bone him. It’s hard to say.
About The Subs Club Universe:
After the death of their friend Hal at the hands of an irresponsible dom, submissive friends Dave, Kamen, Miles, and Gould band together to form the Subs Club—an organization seeking to expose dangerous local doms. The club slowly evolves as romances blossom, loyalties are tested, and tensions mount in a community already struggling for unity in the wake of Hal’s death.
From domestic discipline to knife play to fashion paraphilia, and from family drama to new jobs to first loves, the members of the Subs Club explore life’s kinks inside and outside of the bedroom as they attempt to let go of the past and move forward.

Sometime a book comes along that captures my attention not only with the storyline but the voice of the main protagonist. The Subs Club did just that! The main protagonist, David, was a flailing stinker with a voice that just pulled me into his antics.
Four submissives who lost a friend from a tragic scene at a BDSM club, try to find a way to bring back the safety they once felt while playing. They’re also setting out to memorializing their friend, Hal. It’s apparent that the four of them, David, Miles, Kamen and Gould, are all still grieving in their own way. The trial is over. The club where it happened has let the Dom responsible back in. They feel lost and violated when it comes to BDSM and their safety.
The friends decide to start a blog. A safe place where submissives can speak about bad experience or share information. It soon spirals out of its original context and becomes something that divides their community.
During all of this, David meets a Dom he wants to play with. He practically begs for the chance and then when he gets it, he totally blows it. Yep, he self-sabotaged himself. He’s bratty. He doesn’t listen. He’s all over the board as far as what he wants from this Dom, also named David.
The real struggle is about David finding his way. He needs more discipline but after Hal he’s afraid. He needs to be taken firmly in hand not just in a scene but in real life. David’s not sure he can let go enough to allow for it. The Dom, David…talk about a saint! He is so patient with his bratty sub. He’s questioned and pushed and he always remains calm and in control. He can also deliver a good spanking! Whether with hand, brush, paddle or cane, Sir can get david past his hesitation and objections and right into the proper submissive state.
Again, the voice the story is written in is fun and entertaining. I devoured the book much faster than I hoped, I wanted to stay in that world quite a bit longer! However, each friend will have their own book so I look forward to reading each one. In The Subs Club we get a nice peek into each of their personalities and already start to bond with them. J.A. Rock has a winning series in the making with these guys!
RATING: BAD ASS (submissive) BOOTS!!
