Business and pleasure is a mix no gentleman should consider.

Lord Grayson Holloway goes after what he wants—be it in the law office on his clients’ behalf or in the bedchamber. His new position as partner puts him closer to achieving his goal of becoming the most successful solicitor in London. There’s just one problem—his new secretary. Broad of shoulder yet mild of manner, Edward tempts Gray like no other. Yet the young man barely notices him.

Edward Fenton tries to be a good secretary, but being in Lord Grayson’s hard, commanding presence rouses Edward’s most forbidden desires. Wicked, naughty desires no gentleman should consider giving in to, let alone with his new employer.

Gray is more than willing to mix business with pleasure. But convincing Edward to take a chance on a future with him? That might be the most challenging case Gray has ever taken on.

Warning: Includes buttoned-up gentlemen who become undone, improper use of a desk, spankings, and a big bad lord who has a soft spot for his virgin secretary.

Our thoughts:

I’ve read everything that Ava March has released and of all those stories, Arthur and Leopold have always been my favorites. When March decided to re-release the first two books and expand them into a series, I was ecstatic. Even if the newest book only gives a glimpse here and there of Arthur Barrington and Leopold Thornton, I’ll take it! Plus, we get the luxury of another stellar couples story with Gray and Edward.

Lord Grayson Holloway is now Arthur Barrington’s partner. He’s known for being aggressive and sharp in his field, He’ll take cases others would back down from. He’s a force and he intends to win his cases with any means possible. All of that confidence as a solicitor doesn’t shine through into Gray’s private life. He longs to be able to wake up next to a man who loves him. Someone he can also lavish with love, affection, and share his days with. Most men slink away in the night, leaving him alone and just as lonely the next morning. That’s why Gray cannot figure out Edward. He’s obviously keen on men but seems to be lacking any game! With two men a bit shy to start anything where can this possibly lead?

Edward is worried. He can’t control his urges around Gray and he fears he’ll be hauled off to prison for being a sodomite! When he gets a bit turned on in Gray’s presences he’s certain the end is near. Never in his wild and kinky dreams would he have imagined Gray shared the same interest in men. Gray not only likes men, he likes Edward and he’s more than happy to oblige his more kinkier side.

March perfectly juggles the historic ton, the forbidden desire and the kinky lust in Convincing the Secretary. Edward gets fulfilment he dreamily longed for with Gray. Gray is able to find what he’s needing most with Edward. Their story unfolds quickly yet completely. They’re quick to judge and have a huge misunderstanding but they’re adults and work it through. Less time is spent in conflict which leaves much more time for the good parts: finding their center, love and purpose – together.

You never forget your first love, but is a second chance worth the gamble?

Anthony, Viscount Rawling, knows exactly what he wants in life and he isn’t above having a look about London for it. When he spots recently widowed Gabriel Tilden at a ton function, he thinks he might have found love…again.

Gabriel is as gorgeous and reserved as he was when he broke Anthony’s heart seven years ago. But they were only adolescents then…surely Anthony won’t hold the incident against him. And especially not when the attraction between them is stronger than ever.

Gabriel came to London in search of distraction, and a teasing Anthony is impossible to resist. As Anthony introduces Gabriel to the pleasures that can be found in the city—and in his bedchamber—their bond deepens into something more. Yet both men are hiding secrets that could pull them apart forever…

Our thoughts:

I was a big fan of Tristan and Max from All in with the Duke, book one of the Gambling on Love series, but now I’m thinking Gabriel and Anthony might share the number one spot!

The way Anthony gave with all his heart was endearing. His desire to have a relationship and true love, regardless of the fact he’s gay in 1800’s England, was admirable. He’s not naive, he’s just a man who knows what he wants and doesn’t want to believe it can never happen. He has a past history with Gabriel, one where Gabriel broke his heart and left him wanting. Years later when Gabriel returns to London, Anthony isn’t sure what he should do. Of course he takes the high road, another reason to love Anthony, and makes friends with Gabriel again.

That friendship quickly turns into more because Gabriel is finally willing to accept he always liked Anthony as more than a friend. His heart was always for Anthony and Gabriel must now right his wrong from years ago.

This task isn’t an easy one for Gabriel. He has too many past demons that threaten his chances with Anthony. His means of escape is gambling and it quickly gets out of hand. He also kind of streams Anthony along. It’s quite sad and irritating. Poor Anthony just wants anything he can get from Gabriel and unfortunately it’s not that ideal relationship he has so desired.

A problem for Anthony is hinted about as the pages turn and as a mother of a child with the same condition, I noticed it right away. Others who read this might not see it until the unveiling from Anthony. Ava March does a fantastic job of keeping it low-key until the big reveal. I found this issue of Anthony’s heartbreaking. His fear of being found out. His disappointment with himself the feeling of inadequacy, all are familiar things I’ve seen in my own child. I couldn’t help but love Anthony more. The fretful moments as he tries to delve through stacks of correspondences to grasp onto one from Gabriel was extremely profound for me. As I said, my heart just broke for Anthony.

But, it didn’t stay broken for long! Anthony and Gabriel are soul mates. They’re not going to let troubles keep them apart.  Their hearts longed to be together and there’s no way they would have endured another long time apart.

Viscount’s Wager is a true romance. Two men reunited must now navigate through mistakes, hardships, troubles and failures. Maybe distance made the heart grow fonder. One thing’s for sure, they must accept and forgive themselves before they can truly love each other.

Our Thoughts:

The Client has been re-released! Anytime we get a taste of historical England from Ava March, it is cause for celebration! I’ve read all her novels, yes all of them and The Client is one of my favorites. Sometimes I just like to think that this scenario could have happened. The whore can save enough to leave and find a better life.

Jasper has worked at Madame Delacroix’s for ten years. Of that ten, he has had the pleasure of Nate’s company for four of them. Nate has pined after his best friend, Peter, but the affection was always one-sided. Now that his friend is marrying, Nate is in a state of depression. Jasper is the ultimate distraction.

Jasper longs for Nate to see that the person who truly cares about him and is willing to reciprocate is him, Jasper. He’s just kidding himself. There is no way they could ever be together someone, at some point, would recognize Jasper from Madame Delacroix’s. How could he ever think that he could be with Nate? Nate doesn’t want him anyway, he wants the best friend he can never have. All these realizations, plus the fact that Jasper is falling in love with Nate, motivates him to leave and start his new life.

That’s all well and good for Jasper, but it leaves Nate alone and missing not only his newly married friend, but Jasper as well. When Peter returns and Nate is still in a funk, he realizes the person he truly wants the company of is Jasper but is it too late for them?

If you haven’t read Ava March, you must! She delivers heartfelt stories with happy endings even though the men live in secrecy. Get your dose of the ton, you won’t be disappointed by any Ava March stories.
