We cannot contain how excited we are to be part of the final blog tour for the Collars & Cuffs series. KC Wells and Parker Williams have brought such diverse characters of depth that it’s sad to see this series come to an end. We celebrate this final book and bring a character interview from Jeff, whom we originally met in his and Damian’s book Damian’s Discipline (book five in the series).

An Interview with Jeff, Damian’s Discipline book 5.

What is your biggest fear?

Losing Damian’s love. You can NOT repeat this to anyone, okay? Damian’s…I don’t know how to describe it. I’ve gone to the club a few times with him, and I see how some of the other Doms are, all larger than life. Damian isn’t like that. Damian has a quiet strength. Even though the relationship we have isn’t a D/s one, the man has still given me the guidance I needed to become a better person than I am. Which, let’s be honest, really wasn’t difficult. I was kind of a shit. Still am, I suppose. But he loves me anyway.

What is your most prized possession?

I bet most people will say something big and extravagant, but not me. My most prized possession is a bronze colored sweater that Damian bought for me when I first moved in with him. I love it because it’s soft and warm, but what really makes it something I can’t bear to be apart from is despite my behavior and the numerous mistakes I made, Damian still bought it for me.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

I’m still working with Ron on woodworking. I’ve gotten to be pretty good, too, or so he says. I like making little things for Damian, but what I really want to do is make him a chest of drawers for his clothes. Something elegant and classy, like he is. Yeah, I know I sound like a sap in love, but maybe that’s because I am. :)

Your best childhood memory?

I don’t have a best childhood memory. Can we move on to the next question please?

Where do you hope to be in five years?

You know, I’m going to be honest…I never thought I’d have a future. I figured one day they’d find my body in the gutter, and I’d be buried in a plot with all the other people no one wanted to claim. But now? In five years I can see myself actually becoming someone. Ron says I’ve got the potential to be a woodworker, and I think to myself that maybe I can do this. I dream…it sounds stupid when I say it out loud…but I thought about opening a shop where people could come in and look at what I’ve made. The prices would be exorbitant, but they would know the quality was worth every penny.

When I first told Damian, I thought he’d laugh, but he got this look on his face, and started asking me what kind of shop I’d look at. He had a friend of his draw up some designs, and show them to me. A big picture window display would show off some of the things I’d worked on, and we’d constantly have to be cleaning the nose and fingerprints off the windows. The store would have natural lighting, and everything would gleam. There’d be so many sales, I’d have to hire someone to take care of the till, while I was in the back creating new things.

It’s years away, if it ever happens, but now that I can see that dream, I want it more than anything. And I think Damian wants it for me.

I love him.

Blurb:

In all his relationships, Darren Fielding never found the level of intimacy he witnessed between Thomas Williams and his sub, Peter, the day of Peter’s “rebirth.” Not only that, he never realized such intimacy was possible. For two years, Thomas’s business card has been burning a hole in his wallet. When Darren’s lover moves on, maybe it’s finally time to see where that card takes him.

Collars & Cuffs’s new barman, JJ Taylor, is really conflicted right now. He went to the club with a very specific purpose, already convinced of what he’d find there. Except it’s not what he expected at all. He certainly didn’t anticipate finding himself drawn to the new wannabe Dom. Nor could he have guessed the direction that attraction would lead him.

Old love, new love, vows, pain, rage, moving in, moving on…. The members of Collars & Cuffs face an event that touches some of them deeply, but it will only reinforce what they already know: together they are stronger, and some bonds cannot be broken.

Excerpt:

“Honey, I’m home.”

Alex laughed and came out of the kitchen to greet his husband. “We’ve talked about this, right? You do not walk into this apartment and talk to me like I’m the little wife.”

Leo kissed him soundly on the cheek. “Aw, but you’d look great in an apron, holding a glass of beer out for your weary, hard-working hubby.” He smirked. “And besides, no one in their right mind would call you little.”

Alex quirked his eyebrows. “One, you don’t drink beer, which is why there’s a glass of chilled chardonnay on the living room table, waiting for you. Two, excuse me—weary? Hard-working? You’ve been standing around in leather chaps and a harness, watching while guys do all manner of things to each other, which probably included a lot of fucking, because, hey, it’s Saturday night, right?”

Leo sighed happily. “What can I say? I love my job.”

Meet K.C. Wells:

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

Meet Parker Williams (or at least his voices):

Good day! We are the voices that live inside Will’s head. The ones who whisper to him constantly, beckoning him to speak of our adventures, to tell of our love, and perhaps, if we’re in a mood, kill a person or two.

We guide his hand as he tells our tales where love is the most powerful force, but must be worked for, molded, and finally, embraced. There can be no shortcuts or substitutions on the path to a happily ever after.

We hope you will join with us as Will fulfills his obligation to ensure our stories are told and, we hope, enjoyed.

Our thoughts:

This is a hard review to write. I have very much enjoyed the Collars and Cuffs series from the beginning. I enjoyed meeting a new couple with each new release, yet having the opportunity to revisit a few of the’old’ couples again in that same release. They felt like family. They stole my heart. They brought happiness, tears, laughs, and emotions so worth feeling.

Endings and Beginnings is the last book in the Collars and Cuffs series. It’s the end for Leo, Thomas, and their boys. But, it’s the beginning of a new club. adventure and potential. Eli and Jared are off to start their own club under the mastery of Thomas and together they will spread the good that has come from Collars and Cuffs.

This novel was really about all the couples and, of course, one new relationship with Darren and JJ. They’re all coping with a big development. Something that impacted so many of their lives and impacted the club as a whole. We know Darren from when Thomas took Peter for his shaving prior to his rebirth. JJ is a new barman at the club but he’s got a secret that could be a game charger, impacting those he knows. Of course with this fantastic and caring group, he’s nothing to worry himself over.

Darren was passionate and takes to learning to master quite well. I liked how JJ and Darren learn together and really connect. JJ finally finds himself and that good; because, he was so twisted and confused. He realizes how much he ran from everything and how wrong that was, and unfair.

Peter has to stand up and remember his training and his progress. That big piece of news almost shatters him and pulls him away from Thomas and all he’s done to help him. Of course, Thomas will always provide and take care of his boy. Peter has grown the most of all the guys and I felt he deserved to be a big part of this story. We can leave this series knowing he’s alright and so much stronger.

I look forward to the next chapter. I grudgingly leave this series behind but I leave knowing it will be one I recommend to everyone and would read over and over again. Thank you KC Wells and Parker Williams. You wrote your hearts out and it shows on the pages of these eight books.

Anyone who frequents Collars & Cuffs knows Dorian Forrester is built for pain, including Dorian himself. But everyone has it wrong. For six years, Dorian’s chased a feeling that remains tantalizingly out of his reach. Unteachable, Dorian can take anything and everything a Dom can throw at him. Still, it’s not enough. Dorian needs… something more. Something he won’t find at Collars & Cuffs.

Dorian’s search takes him out of the safe environment he’s known for years, out of his depth, and into a realm of deep, dark trouble.

Alan Marchant has been watching Dorian with interest for a while and knows there’s more to Dorian than his label of “pain slut” suggests. When Dorian disappears, Alan and his friend Leo set out to find him. But the disoriented young man discovered cowering in a hotel room is not the Dorian they know and love. That Dorian is shattered. It’s up to Alan to pick up the pieces and show Dorian there are better ways to fly.

They may be off on a new journey together, but their destination will rock them both to the core.

Make Me Soar

Exclusive Excerpt:

Alan smiled. “Sleep well, lad.”

“Please!”

The sudden entreaty stopped him as he turned to leave. Dorian stared at him, eyes wide, his face pale.

“What is it?” Alan moved closer. Dorian was shivering. Alan perched on the side of the bed. “What’s the matter?” He laid his hand on the duvet.

Dorian let go of the pillow and fastened his hand around Alan’s wrist. “Don’t… don’t leave me, please.” He swallowed. “I-I don’t want to be alone, all right?”

One look at that tortured expression was all Alan could stand.

“Do you want me to sleep in here tonight?”

The relief that swept across Dorian’s face had Alan’s throat tightening in seconds.

“Yes, please.”

Alan stood up and unbuttoned the heavy brushed cotton shirt, slipping it off his shoulders. He undressed down to his boxers and then lifted the duvet, noting that Dorian was similarly attired. Dorian didn’t say a word but watched him, eyes still wide and haunted. Alan climbed into the double bed and lay down beside Dorian. The urge to pull the young man into his arms was tremendous, but he waited, letting Dorian lead the way.

Dorian gave a shudder and then exhaled, his breath shaky. “Thank you.” His eyes shone in the lamplight. “I couldn’t face….”

Alan nodded. “It’s okay. I understand. Now try to sleep, eh?”

Dorian gave him a weak smile, then reached across and switched off the lamp, plunging the room into near darkness.

Alan lay still, listening to the by now familiar sound of Dorian’s breathing as he drifted off. The speed with which he fell asleep gave Alan some comfort—and something else.

He needed me.

The thought stopped him cold.

When was the last time someone needed me like that?

And swift on the heels of that thought came another.

Damn, it feels so good to be needed.

Our Thoughts:

I feel like I should write a disclaimer at the beginning of this review. You see, I’m a huge fan of this series. I’ve devoured every book as it has released and enjoyed each one for their differences. Some have clicked with me more than others, but Make Me Soar is up there for me, right beside An Unlocked Heart, the first in the Collars and Cuffs series. It doesn’t surprise me because An Unlocked Heart is when we first meet Dorian. Let’s just say that Dorian has some history with Alex and Leo. Despite that history, Leo is actually one of Dorian’s saviors in Make Me Soar.

If you’ve read the first book in this series, then you know that Dorian does something to compromise Leo and Alex’s relationship. After that, I didn’t exactly hate Dorian. I felt more sorry for him. It was obvious, even back at the beginning, that Dorian didn’t really fit in. That feeling of being on the outside and trying for something he wasn’t getting in his scenes at Collars and Cuffs weighed on him immensely. All Dorian wants to do is feel and soar. He thinks that to fly in subspace requires more pain. Now he’s dubbed a pain slut and yet subspace has remained out of reach.

As a last-ditch effort to feel and experience what he has longed for, he goes to Berlin. Alone. Not knowing the language and the scope of the BDSM clubs there, it’s a dangerous move on his part. Dorian becomes the victim of a terrible breach of trust. He is taken to an apartment, his power is taken from him and he is violated in numerous ways. It isn’t until his friend at Collars and Cuffs, Pietro, becomes nervous after not hearing from Dorian that his saviors come.

Leo and Dom Alan fly to Berlin and find Dorian in a terrible state. Alan kicks into protective mode. He’s desired working with Dorian for some time. For six months he’s been watching him, trying to figure out what Dorian needs. Now, his main focus is getting Dorian through his stages of grief and healed.

Alan is the most calm and patient Dom! Most of the Dom’s in this series are, but Alan was laid back and gentle from the beginning. His rules were short and simple but when broken, he was firm. His background in counseling helped get Dorian through those dark days. The biggest thing he did was take Dorian in and not let him lock the world out. He also gave Dorian what he needed most, love and affection.

This BDSM story is so different because the real work over came in the form of touches, strokes and words of affection. Heping Dorian know he was cherished, desired and loved was key to helping him feel and eventually fly. By far, this book was over the top (in a good way) sensual. The tenderness with a touch of sadism was the perfect mix for Dorian’s and Alan’s story.

Witnessing Dorian grow and be cherished was long overdue. Getting to know Alan was also a treat. His style was quite different and interesting to experience. I also enjoyed that he was a mm romance writer! That was a fun plot point that enriched the story.

Overall, I cannot stress enough how great this whole series, Collars and Cuffs, is. If you haven’t read them, treat yourself and do so! Enter the giveaway and try to win them for free, whatever you do, you cannot deny yourself the pleasure of this series. As for Make Me Soar, it’s another five-star addition to the series and one that is definitely on my favorites list.

Excerpt:

Damian

I LOVED it when it was evening and all was quiet and peaceful. No traffic noise intruded into the house, and in the lounge, the only sound was the slow ticking of the clock on the mantelpiece. Give me a mechanical clock any day. Not that I had anything against more modern timepieces, but there was something soothing about the sound. The clock had been my grandmother’s, and I took loving care of it, making sure it was oiled and wound. Right then my evening was perfect: the tick of the clock, a glass of Cabernet on the table next to me, and a worn, hardcover Sherlock Holmes novel in my hands. I’d lost count of how many times I’d read The Hound of the Baskervilles, but re-reading a favorite book was a warm, comforting experience. The wine created a warm glow inside me. I took another sip.

And then my phone rang.

The temptation to ignore its clamoring call was huge. I was happy, comfortable, and anyone ringing me at home during the evening had to want something. All my friends knew my routines, especially since Oliver….

I closed my eyes. I could almost hear that edge of amusement in his voice. “You going to answer that, Sir?” And yes, I could see the gleam in his eye as he awaited my reaction, tense in nervous anticipation. Brat loved pushing my buttons. With a sigh, I picked up the call.

“Damian? It’s Leo. We need your help.”

I placed the wine on the table. “What can I do for you?” My interest was piqued immediately. It had been quite a while since the co-owner of my BDSM club had called me at home.

“Sorry to disturb you, but you were the first person I could think of. We have a boy. He’s nineteen, and he needs help.”

Exclusive Excerpt:

He stared at me, his expression neutral. “You found me a… job?”

I nodded and then told him about it. “I’m waiting to hear back from the restaurant owner.”

Jeff’s face darkened. “I’m not your fucking submissive. Who are you to decide this for me?”

I felt cold flush through me. “No one said you were my sub. Besides, you couldn’t handle being my sub. I doubt you could meet my expectations.” A look of hurt flashed across his face, but I was angry. Jeff needed a large dose of reality. “We’ve seen how you earned your living, if you can call it that. And look where that got you. You sleep in an abandoned warehouse, you have no clothes, you wash in public toilets.” Jeff winced. “Is that the kind of life you want? Because if it is, then there’s the door. You can leave any time. But once you do? I will not come looking for you again. Once that door closes, it will not reopen for you.”

I paused for a breath. I hadn’t intended to say so much, but hell, I was trying to help him and all he could see was me trying to control his life.

Jeff put his mug down on the coffee table and stood up. Without a word he marched out of the room and up the stairs. I rose and went into the hall in time to see him appear with a plastic bag in his hand. Before I could say a word, he stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him.

Parker Williams
Parker Williams began to write as a teen, but never showed his work to anyone. As he grew older, he drifted away from writing, but his love of the written word moved him to reading. A chance encounter with an author changed the course of his life as she encouraged him to never give up on a dream. With the help of some amazing friends, he rediscovered the joy of writing, thanks to a community of writers who have become his family.

Parker firmly believes in love, but is also of the opinion that anything worth having requires work and sacrifice (plus a little hurt and angst, too). The course of love is never a smooth one, and Happily Ever After always has a price tag.

Review:

The Collars & Cuffs series has a been a favorite of mine since I ‘cracked the pages’ of An Unlocked Heart. While none of the couples have ever been able to exceed by love for Leo and Alex, a few have come very close. Each book tackles a different challenge and a different need for the dominant and submissive.  That holds true for Damian’s Discipline.

In this book we have a very broken Jeff. He is on the edge when Scott crosses paths with the man whose photo lured him to England and inevitably into the arms of Ben. Jeff is pill popping, on the streets and very paranoid. He’s a victim of the evil man who managed to mess up a lot of lives, to include Alex. Yes, the bastard, Curtis Rogers. Scott really wants to find Jeff some help and that’s how Jeff comes to stay with Damian.

Damian was a Dom and his sub was Oliver, a feisty thing who pushed and worked Damian over, any chance he had. Oliver becomes sick and Damian is left alone with nothing but the grief. Having Jeff in his home brings up a lot of past emotions that are still a bit too fresh and raw after two years. But, Damian can see the struggle and yet hopelessness in Jeff. He really wants to help Jeff and a little structure seems to be what he needs.

It’s only after Damian discovers, the hard way, all the emotional scarring  in Jeff that Damian realizes helping Jeff will break him out of everything he’s ever known.  This situation can not be helped with a firm hand and some kinky play.  It’s actually the last thing Jeff needs. He is so far off the sexual radar he might as well be invisible! This kid has suffered and hurt deeply. He needs to begin to heal and be in a safe place. Damian is willing to be that safe place.

The biggest problem they face is Jeff’s addiction to pills as a coping mechanism and his up and down emotions. That all comes from not being able to trust Curtis or even his mother.  Navigating the streets and pimping his body to survive was one hell. Being chained, drugged and sold to the highest bidder was an all together different type of hell. There’s so much hurt to wade through for Jeff and he just doesn’t react well to stress or being confronted by elements from his past.

Many times Jeff lashes out at Damian and walks out on him as well. I admire Damian’s strength and resolve because I wanted to slap Jeff a few times myself!! It becomes apparent that Damian and Jeff have to work through so much more than they ever realized and their original plan might not be the best plan. Question is, are they willing to open up say how they feel and start over or was this partnership destined to fail from the beginning?

Yet another perfectly emotional ride to the potential happy ending! If  you haven’t read the Collars & Cuffs books….what are you waiting for??!!??

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C.Wells always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way.

K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, where the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings – writing about men in love was even hotter…

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career.

The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.
