Book Details:

Book Title: Tricking Chase
Series: Book 1 in the Devils Pride MC series
Author: Jessie G
Publisher: Jessie G Books
Release Date: May 8, 2015
Genre: Gay, Contemporary, Suspense, Romance

Blurb:

As Sergeant At Arms for Devils Pride MC, Tyler “Trick” Malone’s take no prisoners reputation make him one of the most feared and respected members of the club. Unbeknownst to the MC, Trick indulges his most dangerous secret, traveling out of state twice a year to trade his cut for the whip he expertly wields at a gay dungeon.

Trick’s well organized life takes a turn when he saves bar back, and terrified submissive, Chase Ward in a Georgia dungeon. With his protector and dungeon owner dead, Chase is no longer safe in the place he once called home. With the new dungeon owners circling like sharks, he desperately begs for sanctuary in the arms of his savior.

A year later, the MC is still none the wiser that Trick’s houseboy is anything more than a grateful servant. Chase knows, if the club finds out their secret, they will kill Trick—the man he’s come to rely on for everything from the food he eats to the pleasure he feels to the security he craves. Even when gratitude turns to love, Chase never expects reciprocation from his ruthless Master. After all, the only way for them to survive is if Trick remains the heartless bastard the MC knows.

Trick is positive he has it under control and having Chase around has definitely made his life easier. There doesn’t seem to be any harm in letting Chase take a part-time job at Velvet Ropes, especially after meeting privately with the owners. That is until a bomb explodes at the club, leaving Chase fighting for his life and forcing Trick to face his long hidden feelings.

Even if Chase survives, that bomb has done more than rock the foundation of the popular leather club. It’s blown Trick and Chase’s well-guarded secret out of hiding, putting their lifestyle and their lives at risk. Now there is only one thing Trick needs to do before the club gets them and that’s to get revenge on the person who dared to hurt his precious boy.

Authors Note: Tricking Chase is a direct spin-off of The Protector, which is book 3 in my Sizzling Miami series. Though I tried to provide enough details that it isn’t necessary to have read that book, I cannot really call this a standalone. Tricking Chase contains an established D/s relationship, hot guys on motorcycles, an undercover DEA agent named Snake and a few visits from fan favorite Sizzling Miami characters.

Excerpt:

The fact that Ty found Chase’s worry endearing was a glaring reminder that he was still thinking with his dick a year later. It was irrelevant that he warned Chase how dangerous staying with him would be. The boy had nowhere else to go and was riding high on hero worship and multiple orgasms. Not doing more to push Chase away was the only regret he had in life. Regretting it didn’t change anything he’d done after. In the end, nothing else mattered except seeing his collar around that slender neck and losing himself in Chase’s willing submission.

“Five minutes,” Ty agreed. Chase didn’t need further clarification. His boy scrambled up and Ty barely had time to brace before Chase was wrapped around him. Embracing didn’t come naturally to him, but then boldly asking for such an embrace didn’t come naturally to Chase. The boy found it comforting and maybe he enjoyed it, but he didn’t have to say so aloud. And maybe he didn’t look at the clock either, but then Chase’s OCD wouldn’t let him go too far over the requested time. And just maybe he would take the opportunity to nuzzle the collar he painstakingly crafted. Though he was used to welding bike frames, once they had reached their agreement, Ty knew exactly what kind of collar Chase would wear. One made from his own hands, with pieces of him carefully woven through. Every time he saw it resting around Chase’s neck there was such a sense of rightness that it overrode all common sense.

Meet the author:

“Wearer of Many Hats” is a title that was given to Jessie by a former employer some twenty years ago. This dubious distinction, along with the job description “everything is her fault”, came after she fixed an electrical problem during her interview that the office had been having for years. After that, if anything went wrong, her coworkers immediately declared it her fault so she’d have to fix it. This position of importance inspired the owner to convert a closet into an office, thereby providing her coworkers endless opportunities to refer to her as “the girl in the closet.”

Today she is still the “Wearer of Many Hats” and her family has readily jumped on the “everything is her fault” bandwagon. Most mornings start at 5am, where she stumbles into her home office (which is step or two up from a closet) to tackle her personal email, watch gay porn and satisfy her Trivia Crack addiction. By six, she’s caffeinated and ready to take on the world. Wearing her favorite red power nightgown, she expertly designs websites, provides SEO and social media services, freelances as a bookkeeper, cooks, cleans and writes.

Writing has been the elusive, life-long goal that seemed to be getting further away as the years went by. It took 30+ years to achieve, but she’s decided that timing is everything. The world wasn’t ready for m/m romance back then, and now that it is, the girl in the closet has finally found her writing home.

Jessie is a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. She’s a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout her books.

The Protector Final - 700H

GGR-LB Blurb

There was a time when Master Saul Alvarez filled his days fighting and his nights teaching willing subs the pleasure of his whip. His compassionate understanding of the masochist mind makes him the most sought after professional sadist in the Miami BDSM community. Neither role invites long term relationships, but he’s comfortable with his solitary existence until he is charged with guarding Durango’s prized whore. One look into those terror filled eyes has him vowing to risk it all to save the beautiful man.

Javier Escardo had been praying for death, but never expected the stone cold killer he got in response. One glimpse into those sinful eyes reveals not only the promise of retribution, but a reason to live. Eight years later, free and mostly sane, Javier is determined to take what belongs to him. Saul’s heart. Through hell and back, through layers of pain and shifting realities, that one truth has remained firm. His protector needs saving and he can’t do it alone.

Hidden beneath the public persona, Kyle Jensen is a man who craves to be invisible without being insignificant. He longs to find a Master who will see his need to be taken over without abusing him and a lover who will care about him beyond the sexual games. It isn’t until he encounters the smoldering combination of Saul and Javier that he realizes it was never supposed to be just one partner at all.

Can two battered hearts be mended by the love of a third? Kyle becomes the light to their darkness, and he’s willing to risk his heart for theirs, but when the past threatens Saul, will Javier’s sacrifice destroy them all?

Author’s Note:
The Protector deals with issues of sexual abuse and forced prostitution. While these acts are not detailed on the page, there are many references to them and the ongoing fight to heal and overcome. This book should not be read by anyone who would be adversely affected by these references.

FAR Jessie G Bio PhotoLike many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I’d begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: To be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With two published books and counting, it’s been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I’m a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout my books.

GGR-LB Excerpt

If he had to look in those concerned eyes one more second he was going to lose his shit and he didn’t even know why. What he needed to do was get the ball rolling on their forty-eight hour fuck-fest. The clock was ticking and he refused to waste another second pondering things best left un-pondered. “So what’s the prize?”

“The prize?” Damn but Javier was cute with his nose wrinkled in confusion. Kyle couldn’t resist leaning in and rubbing his own against it, causing Javier to giggle. There it was again, boy on the cusp of discovery.

“For the winner of tongue tag, there’s got to be a prize.” Kyle pretended to think about it and rocked back against Saul, willing him into the game. “I know!”

Vibrating with anticipation, Javier pressed in close along his front, rubbing their cocks together and begged, “Tell me!”

And to think, Javier had called him adorable. “Winner gets to ride his cock.”

Saul rocked him forward and he could feel Javier automatically respond. Just like that they were one fluid movement, now if only Javier were willing to roll over and offer up his ass they could be one fluid fuck chain. Though he was content to be the bottom, Kyle just knew being the guy in the middle of Saul and Javier…in this position…was going to rock his world. The whole staged ménage to get the right camera angle usually included a test of his dexterity and rarely came with a satisfying orgasm. This right here, the leisurely seductive rocking felt so intimate and….damn! Focus, he needed to focus on the moment and store that thought away for the future.

“Well then what’s the loser get?” Javier asked.

It was the perfect response. Not that he thought either of them was going to be selfish lovers, but it was always good to get confirmation. “Uhm, I guess that depends. I’m thinking some oral gratification would be a good consolation prize. Does he do that?”

“Saul? Why wouldn’t he?” Kyle had known many a top who thought it was beneath them to suck cock; apparently Javier never had that problem. “He’s really good, too.”

Hot damn! Did Saul suck cock the way he kissed, like he had all the time in the world to enjoy it? Kyle was so ready to experience that! “How good?”

“Like…” Javier chewed on his lower lip as he sought the right words. “Like mind numbing, toe curling, shake you apart and leave you begging for more, good.”

“Well now—” Kyle teased when he felt Saul’s smug smile against his nape. “—it’s not that I don’t trust your opinion, baby, but I should really judge that for myself.”

“Always best to experience these things first hand.” Javier nodded seriously. How was he to resist this pair, really?

“Are the two of you going to talk about it all morning or will there be actual tongue tagging soon?” Saul grumbled. “Not that this hasn’t been amusing, but one of you better make a move or I’m leaving you both here to suffer.”

“Suffer?” Kyle scoffed, “We’ll just fuck without you.”

Faster than he could think of why that challenge was such a bad idea, Saul flipped him onto his stomach and pinned him. With Javier squeaking and scurrying back, and Saul giving him his best early morning glare, Kyle could not find a single thing to regret in his statement. In fact, it was all he could do not to pat himself on the back and whoop out an enthusiastic Hell Yes!

“I would’ve thought a smart pup like you wouldn’t need this spelled out for him. My pups don’t fuck without me and back talk like that will make me impose further sanctions,” Saul warned.

Kyle really wanted to push his luck. If not for Javier watching them curiously, he would have aimed for the back talker of the year award.

Our Thoughts:

Full disclosure, I did not read the first book in this series, but I did read and LOVE For a Reason. I felt I could have known a few of the secondary characters better had I read the first book. I didn’t get this feeling while reading book two. For a Reason felt like it could be a standalone. This book, definitely felt rooted within the Sizzling Miami series.

Saul and Javier were once under the harsh drug lord, Durango. Saul was a hired killer. Javier was a possession, sold by his uncle to pay his debts. Javier was beaten, humiliated and made into a whore. Then Saul was given the job as Javier’s protector. That moment would forever change them.

Javier was strong enough to know that he had to obey or his sister would be killed. Saul was similarly caged by Durango. Their time together became a bittersweet brutality that weighed heavily on both of them. Eventually Saul was able to plan their escape and save them both. Unfortunately, the damage was deep and painful. Javier’s method of coping was relying on Saul to feel safe, protected and to black-out anything and everything that would make him remember.

Saul gave up his place within the BDSM world to shelter Javier from any brutality, no matter the means or enjoyment. He became everything to Javier. He gave Javier his heart but always held on to the fact he was Javier’s captor and hurt him more than he could ever be forgiven for.

Javier and Saul are just existing. There for each other, but always knowing that one day Durango will find them and possibly kill them. Enter, Kyle. Kyle had a long stint in the porn industry. In his final month, he crosses paths with Javier and Saul and the desire to be the third in their little family is strong. Javier really pushes for it and Saul will do anything to make Javier happy. It’s obvious that Kyle’s needs are opposite of Javier’s so the addition would be a good match. Between Javi and Kyle, Saul can be loved fully and they’d both feel safe and wanted.

The Protector is about Saul finding a balance between being Javier’s protector and letting him find his own strength again. It’s Saul understanding that Javier truly loves him and it’s not because he saved him. The Protector is also about Javier dropping his preconceived notions of what it is exactly that Saul wants and desires from Javier and Kyle. All along he thought it was full on BDSM but he’s set straight by Kyle. That’s really the biggest realization and understanding of Saul in the whole book. Without Kyle, it would have never happened.

I would have liked a bit more back story on Javier and Saul during their two years together with Durango. I know it would have been a dark and hard time to write into the story but I felt it would have given us more insight into Javier’s issues and fears as well as Saul’s insistence that he was a lost soul as a killer. We get small peeks and insinuations along the way but I would have liked more.

Secondary characters, all the guys in the house, Alaric, Davin, Red and Bull play a huge part in this story. The guys need to break away from Durango once and for all. It’s not going to be easy and it will be a true test of their made family. One thing is for certain, they picked each other and will do anything to keep each other safe. Even new members Chase and Trick are adopted into their tight, made family.

Jessie G discloses that Chase and Trick will be the first book, Tricking Chase,  in a spin-off series for the Devils Pride MC that Trick is part of. Something for fans to look forward to this spring!

Best Reads of 2014

It’s that time of year when we look back on all the books we’ve read in 2014. Some books are barely memorable and others we cannot forget. Those that stuck with us, for whatever reason,  we’d like to share with you in hopes that you will find them as memorable as we did. Here’s to a year of wonderful books, creative writers, beautiful covers and profound stories. We can’t wait to see what 2015 holds for us!

Kristy’s List:

Every year I fail miserably at narrowing my list down to ten books. I will do my best but I seriously doubt I will be successful this year as there were so many books I loved this year. I’m happy to say that a few were not only ‘new to me’ authors, but also debut authors! Always take a chance, one never knows if a gem of a book is just waiting to be discovered. Here’s my favorites from 2014 (not necessarily published in 2014, just read in 2014).

Phoenix by Melanie Tushmore: A rockin’ kind of love!
For A Reason by Jessie G: A protective kind of love!
Grif’s Toy by Joseph Lance Tonlet: An unusual kinkster finds a partner.
Tales from the Edge Series by LM Somerton: BDSM heaven!
Sinners Series by Rhys Ford: Irish men, what’s not to love??
Guarded by Cat Grant and L.A. Witt: The rocker, the bodyguard and some kink.
Spencer by JP Barnaby: BROKEN BOY Aaron’s love, enough said.
Training Season by Leta Blake: Holy hot dominance…and skates.
Bonds of Denial by Lynda Aicher: Leaving the business for love.
Maybe This Time by AM Arthur: Taming the party boy.
Summer Symphony by Brandon Shire: Moving past grief.
Fear: A Copper Horse by KA Merikan: Dystopian horse fetish at its finest.

Janette’s List:

2014 was a great year for me book wise – I’ve had the privilege to read so many amazing books! As Kristy said, there are just so many I loved, so it’s always tough to put together this list. I could’ve included so many, but I forced myself to narrow it down to just 10. Many of them are written by writers I discovered in 2014, and others are new books by old favorites.  The one thing these books seem to have in common is that each surprised me. I didn’t really expect to love them the way that I did which just goes to show that preconceived notions can be misleading. I hope you’ll take the time to check them out if you haven’t had a chance already, and if you have, let me know what you thought. Here’s to finding more great reads in 2015!

Blog Tour: For A Reason by Jessie G

FAR Banner 3 Chicks

3 Chicks After Dark welcomes Jessie G to the blog today! Her book, For A Reason, brought a STILETTOS (5 STARS) review from us! End your work week with a little spice from the hot little R-rated excerpt. You’ve been warned! :D

Excerpt:

Ian hung his head, his breathing erratic as Bull softly stroked his back and legs, just letting his fingertips graze the sensitive flesh. “A good lover knows every inch of his partner’s body inside and out. He should take the time to arouse them slowly, to find every trigger point and ensure that the experience only brings pleasure.”

Parting those cheeks, he didn’t do anything more than look for a full minute, waiting to feel Ian squirm uncomfortably. “A real man would start with a kiss.” He leaned in and circled the  exposed hole with his tongue, lapping and probing until Ian’s long legs trembled. “Arousing and soothing the flesh of his lover, hoping they will be receptive to their partner’s touch.”

After slicking his fingers with lube, Bull circled the tight bundle of nerves and nudged one finger inside as he felt Ian yield to his penetration. Sinking deeper, it was all he could do not to groan when Ian did. “Touch is tremendously important between lovers, it creates a connection that speaks of want without words. My want speaking to yours.”

Gently he eased another finger in, encouraged by the strangled whimpers filling the room. Slowly, he pulled out almost all the way before sliding home again until Ian couldn’t contain his cries of pleasure. “Being attuned to the sounds his lover makes, the partner learns what brings the most pleasure and takes that knowledge to heart. His lover’s pleasure becomes more important than his own and he lives to hear every whimper, every moan, and every harsh breath until it’s a symphony in his head. He wants to hear it every night, encourage it with every kiss and caress until it is an addiction that must be fed.”

As he continued to finger fuck Ian, deliberately stroking the sensitive gland with every pass, he was pleased to see a drop of precum bead on the head of Ian’s cock. “The sounds you make are music to my ears. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing them.”

Meet the author:

FAR Jessie G Bio PhotoBefore I am a writer, I am a voracious reader who panics when there are less than fifty books on her wish list. That wasn’t always the case and shamefully I must admit there was a time early in life that I hated to read. After throwing every possible age appropriate book my way a relative snuck me my first romance and I have been hooked ever since.

My love of reading morphed into a desire to write and I still have old notebooks and floppy disks full of ideas and partially written plots. While earning my computer degree, and starting on my career and family, I didn’t write a single word. It wasn’t until I was buying school supplies for my oldest son that the itch came back. Oddly, I can sniff out the stationary aisle in any store and have been known to skip an item on the grocery list in favor of a shiny new notebook.

With the advent of social media I filled up my feeds with my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: To be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. Even if you write dribble, you’re writing. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will get at writing.

Every day I took the time to write dribble, every day I told myself I was a writer, and on January 28, 2014 I woke up in the middle of the night with Past Hurts pounding in my head. Within two months, I also had the foundation for Books 2 and 3 and the Sizzling Miami Series was born.

When I’m not reading or writing, I own a successful web design business. My husband and I live in Central Florida and we’re enjoying life as parents of adults. Whenever possible we hit the road on the motorcycle and dare anyone to find us.

Review:

More than fifty notes. That’s the most notes I’ve ever tagged in one book. Fifty notes and I don’t even know where to begin with this review! I will try my best to convey what drove my decision to add For A Reason to my very limited 5 star and favorites list.

I will start with Ian. He’s had a hard go in life. Having been thrown away, literally, by his mother as a newborn, he’s done nothing but struggle to survive. He endured lengthy hospitals stays and over 30 different foster homes. He’s always felt unwanted, unloved and untouchable. One thing he has achieved in his life is fight to be better, rise above, proudly lift his head and say he’s made it on his own. He’s doing just that when his life is forever changed. Ian is on his way to job interview when his car breaks down. Missing the interview and his chance for a better opportunity is devastating. Through the smoke of his burning engine, walks a tattooed, bulk of a man. Bull.

Bull. Auto shop owner, occasional tow truck driver. Former military, ex-con employer and over all good guy. Bull just so happens to be that tattooed stud that Ian can’t take his eyes off. Bull is totally taken aback by Ian. Most men are intimidated by Bull. His size and the tattoos give people the wrong first impression of the type of guy he is. Ian has always taken care of himself. Bull has always taken care of others. When these two get together, the sparks fly for more than one reason.

I have high praise for the level of emotional struggles that are worked through with communication in this book. Ian and Bull voice their loves, hates, concerns, agitation, you name it, they discuss is. Yes, they are sensual (over time, not instantaneous). Yes, they fight and have misunderstandings but they always come around and work through it. There is no angst being thrown around by either guy. Even when life takes an unexpected turn, Ian is scared and hurt but after his much deserved ranting he listens to Bull’s opinions and works through it.

The way Bull and Ian connect through touch and words is absolutely breathtaking. Multiple times I was to the brink of tears from the sheer emotion of it all. The love and even the pain they share was like two vines tangling together. They each took on that for each other and gave to each other one hundred percent.

For A Reason has a gregarious group of secondary characters which make the story that much more interesting and fun. From the guys at the shop and halfway house to Bull’s siblings. So many people to support Ian and Bull and to call family. Their tribe. They really bring diversity and add interest.

Overall I found For A Reason a captivating story of survival, strength, love and family. It was a journey I enjoyed from the first page to the last. I hope to read it again because it was good enough to spend many more hours with Ian and Bull and their family.
