An accidental meeting and a misunderstanding lead to a life-altering connection.

A new job, a new city, and hopefully a new life. When chubby gamer Oliver Barnaby receives a job offer from the best boutique game developer in the country, he leaves his family and his less than spectacular existence in Oklahoma without a second’s hesitation. Determined to change more than his career and his geography, Oliver implements a plan to finally land a boyfriend. Step one is improving his skills in the bedroom.

A life that looks perfect on paper, but feels empty in reality. Attractive, successful, charismatic Jaime Snow has a life other people envy. His already booming business is growing. He isn’t lacking in friends. And he has no trouble finding a date. But there’s an emptiness in Jaime’s heart and a hole in his life that only the right man can fill.

An accidental meeting, a misunderstanding, and falling in love. When Oliver and Jaime end up at the same bar at the same time, they each see something they want in the other. Going to bed together that first night is easy. Building the lifetime relationship they both desperately crave will require trust, time, and a little misunderstanding.

Our thoughts:

Another Cardeno C romance that is truly romance! A sweet story from beginning to end, this story doesn’t even have a misunderstanding, let alone a black moment.

When Jaime finally opens up and tells Oliver all the misunderstandings and secrets he’s been keeping there isn’t a blow up or anything! It was actually pretty delightful and a nice change. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the strife, the tense moments and even the break-ups to get to the sweet reunion. Sometimes, it’s nice to just have that fairytale romance that begins and ends sweet and every layer in between is confectionery perfection.

Oliver was a gentle giant. A tall, stout man who was lacking in the self-esteem department. He thinks in order to be a better lover that he needs to gain some experience. His one and only boyfriend shook his confidence in the bedroom.

When Jaime sees the man of his dreams, the guy he could see himself with for the rest of his life, sitting alone at a table in a bar, he decides to seize the moment. Once he understands Oliver thinks he’s a male escort, he’s determined to keep Oliver interested and goes along with the ruse.

For such a rough and dishonest beginning, these two men find that they’re falling in love and escort or not, boss or not, age difference and negative self-awareness aside they’re committed. Jaime is giving, passionate, affectionate and always telling Oliver how much he loves and adores every inch of his mind and body. Oliver gives Jaime all the love and affection he craves. He’s the person Jaime needs to come home to every day.

This is the perfect feel good romance. It will leave you with a happy heart!

Authors know that their muse is a fickle creature. Best-selling spy novelist Stephen Ramsey has been in a hate-hate relationship with his inspiration for months. Stephen’s publisher lays a legal ultimatum upon him, with a rapidly approaching deadline, he knows he must do something to kick-start his creativity or face the unemployment line. His daughter comes up with a possible answer: a summer camp for the creative soul. Excerpt:

Then he appeared from the tree line, a lithe, pale creature of the Finnish goddess Mielikki’s woods if ever I had seen one. Yay for that semester of world mythology back in college finally paying off. Declan wore nothing but a scrap of linen tied around his lean waist and a camera around his neck. I swallowed and stepped down off the porch, anxious to get closer to him. He waited patiently for me. As I drew closer, I could hear him humming. A smile tweaked my lips. It was Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

“You look like you have too much on,” Declan announced when I stood in front of him. I glanced down at my attire. Gym shorts, a T-shirt, and sneakers sans socks. “How would you feel about doing this nude?” My sight knifed back from my clothes to my guide into the Twilight Zone.

“You’re not naked,” I pointed out once I could speak around the knot of desire clogging my throat.

“I usually am, but I figured you’d be far too uptight to not have clothes on, so, I fashioned a makeshift chiton to cover my goodies.”

“Okay. Yes, I’m not comfortable with our goodies hanging out.” He glanced up at the fat moon over our heads, then sighed dramatically. “I can do no shirt and no shoes, however.”

Declan’s gaze returned to me from Madame Luna. He made a sort of cooing sound then rose to his tiny toes to press his lips to mine. It was a soft peck, our mouths touching for a mere second, but it did things to my perceptions of who Steven Ramsey is that I still cannot fully explain.

“I think I’d like to see you without a shirt,” he whispered over my lips.

“What are you doing?” I croaked. He shrugged a shoulder, then dropped back down to stand flat-footed. “Stop it, okay? I’m old enough to be your father.”

He smiled then spun around, his bare back gleaming pure white. I wanted to touch his skin, trace the knobs of his spine with my tongue. This whole thing was pure insanity, yet I hurried to strip off my old T-shirt and kick off my sneakers. Declan glanced over his shoulder, smiled again, and then rushed off into the night, the coquette. I followed because what else could I do? Not traipsing after the kid was impossible. The grass was cool and wet under my bare soles. The high whine of a mosquito zipped past my ear. I would be nothing but a massive bug bite in the morning. I walked behind Declan, swatting at the air, hoping I didn’t step on something that would require stitches or a tetanus shot. We stepped into the woods. I debated going back for my shoes.

“We have to be as silent as possible,” Declan, standing on my right, whispered.

“Shoes are quiet,” I replied, my hand resting on the scraggy bark of an old pine.

“Shoes don’t allow you to touch the earth.”

“They also don’t allow thorns to penetrate your flesh,” I parried. My guide grunted in consternation then set off once again. A million questions bounced around my head as I tenderly placed one foot down then the other. What kind of camera did he use? Was there a special ethereal film for capturing fey? Did I need therapy? Did I just step on a slug?

We walked deeper into the woods. The farther we traveled, the more I wanted to speak up or at least scoff. I was working on a good zinger when I ran into Declan’s bare back. He threw up a hand to silence me. My body tightened from a weird combination of fear and desire. The kid felt wonderful pressed against my chest, his clammy skin resting against mine. I peered over his head, my hand coming to rest on his left hip. Declan leaned back into me just the slightest bit. My cock began to swell. My eyelids drifted down as he wiggled enticingly closer still.

“Look at the hazy ring around the moon,” Declan whispered. My fingers dug into his bony hip. I opened my eyes and looked up. We were on the edge of a small glen. He lifted up his camera and snapped several images as I stared at the milky white fingers of magic tickling the moon. “Now look at the ground.” I did. There, in the center of the small glen, was a small, perfectly circular ring of mushrooms perhaps ten feet wide. “That’s known as a fairy ring.”

“Huh,” I grunted, my body trying desperately to take over the show. Declan had to feel my erection resting against his pert ass. He seemed perfectly as ease with a hard dick between his buttocks. I, on the other hand, was slowly going mad. I longed to lower my mouth to his neck and lick the sweat from his skin. I also wanted to run away screaming to the world that I was not a faggot, but was I? It certainly looked it. Declan lowered his camera and took a few shots of the white mushrooms.

“I’ve heard tales of the fey blessing those who stand in a fairy ring under a full moon. Would you like to go stand in the ring, Steven?” he asked. I nodded. He slid out of my grasp and reached back to find my hand. His fingers were thinner than mine. He pulled me into the glen. I glanced up, then back. “Are you afraid that someone will see us cuddling in the fairy ring?”

“At the moment,” I stepped carefully over several large mushrooms,” I’m afraid of everything, mostly you.”

Two men with a shared history and a mutual attraction must be honest with themselves and each other so both their dreams come true.

Quiet, unassuming Tanner Sellers spends his time running a diner in Hope, Arizona. Not particularly social, twenty-two-year-old Tanner keeps to himself and enjoys his simple life, but he longs for someone to call his own. In his most secret fantasy, that someone is sexy Steve Faus. But Steve is his friend’s father and mentor’s widower and therefore off-limits.

Despite some challenges, thirty-nine-year-old Steve Faus has had a good life. He’s extremely successful at work, has a great relationship with his college-age son, and lives in a wonderful town. Eighteen months after losing his partner, the one thing Steve lacks is someone to share his life. If Steve is honest with himself, that someone is the young man he has known and cared about for years. Steve and Tanner want one another, all they need is a little push in the right direction to make both their dreams come true.

Our thoughts:

The perfect story when you need a healthy dose of sweet loving! In Jesse’s Diner, Tanner is the new owner of the diner, inherited from his best friends father and his own former boss. Tanner is 22 years old and works hard to make the business successful. That’s why he doesn’t work on his social or love life.

Tanner has always had a crush on Steve, Jesse’s husband and best friend’s other dad. Now that Jesse has been gone for a year and a half, Tanner finds it harder to control his lust filled fantasies from consuming him. His meddlesome friend finds a way to get Tanner at Steve’s door. The rest is, as they say, history.

Steve has a desire to get to know and date Tanner. Tanner is beside himself. His fantasy of him and Steve together is coming closer and closer to reality. Steve just has to move them in that direction slowly, without pushing Tanner away by overwhelming him.

Tanner is so innocent and sweet. He’s not naïve, as his past upbringing was not the easiest. Tanner’s just an innocent: never dated, fooled around or had sex. That desire is just too strong to ignore and he’s not sure he wants to ignore Steve.  He’s just so new to the game. Steve is honest and a pillar of strength. Even widowed he exudes strength, confidence and patience. He doesn’t push Tanner at all. He’s very relaxed and easy-going. Steve has a bit of a past that he’s very forthcoming about.

Overall, I love how Jesse’s Diner pulled me in and took hold. I definitely didn’t want to put this story down until it was over. Jesse’s Diner is part of the Hope Series and we even get a small cameo from McFarland’s Farm. I also think the next book was potentially set-up at one point. I can’t wait to discover if I’m right or not. :)

Cardeno C never disappoints. Her stories are tried and true romance. They’re fun, captivating and sensual. Always a good author for good mm romance!

It’s taken Tommy Newsome a while to get his head around being gay.

Growing up in a small town in Georgia, hasn’t prepared him for the more liberal life of a student at the university in Athens. Add to that the teachings of his parents and his church, and you have one shy young man who feels out of his depth. Working on his daddy’s farm hasn’t given him any chance of a social life, certainly not one like the clubs of Atlanta have on offer. Not that Tommy feels comfortable when he gets to sample it—Momma’s lectures still ring loudly inside his head.

All that changes when he goes to his first gay bar and sets eyes on Mike Scott.

When Mike’s not behind the bar at Woofs, he’s busy with his life as adult entertainer Scott Masters. Twenty years in the industry and the times, they are a-changing. Mike’s not had much luck in the relationship department, but as his mom is fond of telling him, you keep fishing in the same pond, you’re gonna reel in the same kind of fish. Maybe it’s time for a change.

And then a beautiful young man asks Mike to be his first….

“I see your stalker’s here again.”

“Huh?” Mike frowned. “What are you talking about now, Kev?” He concentrated on the drink order for Dave and his friends over in the corner.

Kevin grinned and flicked his head toward the rear of the bar. “You know exactly who I’m talking ’bout. Mr. Cutie Pie over there with the muscles. Y’know, the one who’s been sitting on that barstool every Saturday night for the last five weeks?” He arched his eyebrows. “Don’t give me that ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ act. I seen you looking.” His grin widened. “G’on, tell me I’m wrong.”

Mike wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction. “You’re wrong,” he stated emphatically.

Kevin stared. “Hell, you’re a poor liar.” Then his eyes gleamed. “In that case, you can take him his burger, tater tots, and Cherry Coke. Maybe you could even get him to say a few words beyond ‘Hey.’ ’Cause I swear that’s all I’ve ever heard out of that pretty little mouth of his.”

Mike snickered. “I think if I spoke to him, he’d piss his pants.”

Kevin guffawed and went off to the back of the bar. Inside Mike was cursing himself. He’d been careful not to glance too openly at the guy. Those queens he worked with were too damn good at spotting when one of them was taking an interest in a customer. And fuck it, he was interested in the painfully shy but so sexy young man who hadn’t said a word.

“And then there’s the fact that every time he comes in here,” Kevin continued, appearing beside him as if there hadn’t been a break in conversation, “I watch him look ’round the bar ’til he sees you.” That grin was still in place.

“Are you still going on about him?” Mike demanded. “Sure you’re not the one here who’s fixating?”

Kevin held up his hands. “I just call it like I see it. I think he’s only here to ogle you.”

“Well, he’s gonna be disappointed if he turns up in a couple week’s time, isn’t he, ’cause I won’t be here.”

Kevin’s brow furrowed. “Since when do you not work on weekends?”

“Since I’ll be in LA, that’s when.” Mike returned his grin. “Remember?”

“Oh, yeah, you’ve got a shoot. I’d clean forgotten.” He faked a sad face. “Aw, how you gonna cope without seeing that gorgeous bod?” He leered. “Then again, don’t worry your head about it. I’m sure me or Patrick can take care of him.” He waggled his eyebrows.

Mike groaned. “For fuck’s sake, just leave the kid alone, okay? He’s not hurting anyone.” Mike had seen enough to know the guy wasn’t going to be a problem. He preferred this quiet observation to the occasional gropings of fans when he made appearances at Hustlaball or Southern Decadence. The kid appeared to have good manners.

“Here’s his order.” Kevin handed him the tray containing the Angus burger, tater tots, and Cherry Coke. “I’m sure he’ll be delighted to get it from you.” That shit-eating grin just wouldn’t quit.

Mike shook his head and took the tray. He walked over to where the young guy sat, his eyes widening as Mike approached. “Here you go,” Mike said cheerfully, setting the food down in front of him.

The young guy blushed furiously. “Th-thanks.” He lowered his gaze and commenced picking at his tots.

Mike retreated to a safe distance and watched him while he ate. He liked the look of those wide shoulders, the reddish-brown hair, not too short, the barest hint of scruff on his jawline and those striking green eyes. His skin was creamy where it showed, which spoke of a lot of time spent covered up. With his coloring, that was understandable. But that body was speaking even louder to Mike’s dick, which was definitely interested, judging by the way it filled as he feasted on the delectable view before him.

His attention was forcibly drawn away when someone pinched his ass, good and hard.
“You are so busted.”

Fucking Kevin.

Meet K.C. Wells:

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing.

Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

Our Thoughts:

I’ve had the pleasure to read some fantastic books this month and I seem to be on a lucky streak. One of the stellar books with top ratings is First by K.C. Wells!

I’ve always been a fan of K.C. Wells. Since the day I picked up the first Collars and Cuffs book, she has been a ‘must read’ author for me. Imagine my excitement when First came up as a coming soon novel! My expectations for this novel were blown out of the water. I couldn’t love this book more.

Porn star meets virginial student. Yep. I could just end this review there. Seriously don’t really need to know any more to want to read this, right?! Still want more? Okay.

Tommy is nineteen and a studious college student. He was raised in a conservative, Christian, rural area of the south. He’s always done his family proud. He’s also always known he’s gay. Being away from home and in a more flexible and liberal environment on campus has Tommy reflecting on how much he’s hiding. After much consideration he decides to come out to his family. It doesn’t go as well as he hoped. Those stories of understanding parents that love their kids unconditionally does not apply to his folks.

Spinning from the hurt and loss, Tommy leans on his best friend, Ben, and his family for support. He’s also taken to visiting a gay sports bar and is infatuated with one of the bartenders, Mike.  After weeks of sitting on the same stool, making eyes at Mike, he’s finally noticed enough due his change in demeanor. Mike can’t help but want to help Tommy. Of course Tommy wants more than help, he wants Mike!

Now there are two issues with this budding relationship. One is that Mike is a porn star and hasn’t revealed that to Tommy. Tommy hasn’t revealed his age to Mike. It’s bad enough when Mike thinks Tommy is 21. Anyway, they’re off to a hot, passionate start. Mike is enamoured with Tommy. He’s falling fast and he knows he needs to be upfront with him. Will they be able to accept and work through an age difference, homophobic parents and a nontraditional career path?

Mike and Tommy’s first time together has to be one of the hottest, most sensual, raw and sexy coupling I’ve ever read. These guys bring it in First and I’d be hard pressed to find a book that manages to make each love scene so much to the couple involved their 100% there, giving, accepting, feeling and exploring. So hot! Molten lava hot!

I loved everything about this story. Mike’s confidence. Tommy’s shyness. Mike’s attentiveness. Tommy’s keening need. Their combined lust and love. Their ability to step back and reflect inward. Their willingness to work out their problems. First hit from start to finish and never let up. I’m sad it’s over!
