Sex and Candy
Lee may be in a relationship with Tony, but that little fact doesn’t stop Lee when Tony agrees to allow him one wild night of no inhibitions. With excitement thrumming through his veins, Lee finds himself letting loose at Hard Candy, a popular cruise-worthy dance club known for its sweet Candymen and even sweeter one night stands. Under the club’s pulsing lights, he meets a mysterious man in leather, and things soon get hot and heavy as Lee rediscovers his submissive side under the Dom’s firm yet loving guidance.

When Lee returns home to Tony, though, will he face repercussions for his night of passion? Or is their relationship not quite as it appears?

Candy Rain
With a stressful week on the job behind him, construction company owner Tony Morelli is ready for a night curled up on the couch with his dog, a couple of DVDs, and some takeout to keep him company. When a few guys from his crew convince him to join them at the steamy nightclub Hard Candy, Tony’s skeptical at best about his chances of having a good time. Bumping into gorgeous Lee, though, could change his mind, and they share a drink and conversation ripe with the potential to lead to so much more.

However, Tony doesn’t really do casual, and he has to ask himself if all he’d be left with are sweet memories of a night with Lee–and whether those memories would ever be enough.

Meet the author:

Nico Jaye is a fan of all things HEA and has dragged her romance collection along for her moves from San Francisco to Los Angeles to Chicago to New York and back. She thinks reading is awesome and loves that she can hang out night after night with crinoline-wearing debutantes, brawny firemen in suspenders, and werewolf shifters with Scottish brogues. An overall feline enthusiast, Nico secretly (or not so secretly?) adores Hello Kitty, cat GIFs, spontaneous traveling, pretending to be crafty, emoticons, hot menfolk, and parenthetical statements (not necessarily in that order). After starting as the pitcher for Team Awesome (literally) and visiting places like South Africa, Oman, and Fiji, Nico discovered that letting the boys in her head tell her where they want to go could actually be the most exciting journey of all.

Excerpt From Sex and Candy:

Finally, after a few minutes—a few hours…a few days—passed, Lee saw the light filtering through the slats darken as he heard footsteps stop outside the door. His pulse pounding in his ears, he backed away from it when the knob turned.

It’s happening.

Lee’s heart stuttered.

Amber eyes met thickly-lashed brown, and the dark-haired newcomer’s lips quirked upon eye contact. Lee swallowed hard and, without a word, sank to his knees.

A low chuckle filled the space. The lock clicked, and strong fingers gripped Lee’s chin. Lee’s eyes fluttered shut as the dark head bent closer. Firm lips pressed against his own, a tongue sliding out to sweep along the seam. Lee’s lips parted to give entrance, but the other man had already pulled away. His voice was raspy when he spoke. “Good boy,” he murmured. “I see you’ve made a decision.”

Lee glanced up and caught a wicked gleam in those dark brown eyes. Even though he was a foot away, he was at eye level with a leather-covered bulge, and his tongue sat heavy in his mouth, desperate for a taste. Lee felt his heart race as he replied. “Yes, Sir. My—My mouth, please. Please put your cock in my mouth.”

Lee watched wide-eyed as that dark gaze flashed at the polite yet scandalous request. Sir’s full lips curled up as he stepped closer, bringing with him a hint of cologne and the heady scent of pure man. “First,” he corrected, those thick fingers carding through Lee’s hair before gripping his head firmly. “Please put my cock in your mouth first.”

Sex and Candy - Intro Price (Small)

Our thoughts:

Sex and Candy

This was such a fun story to read the first time, I was excited to come back to it and do a reread. Had to get all those feelings back before reading the companion short, Hard Candy.

Lee has permission from his boyfriend to go out and have one night at the club where they first met. A free pass for Lee to go dance and hook-up with someone without repercussions.

Standing near the bar, Lee finds the guy he knows he’s going to pursue. A muscle stud with dark hair and a tattoo up his arm. Just enough bad boy to seem dark and dangerous. Their eyes meet, the bad boy walks over and it is game on!

Moments later, Lee is in the bathroom with his pants down, electric blue jock on display for the stud and waiting to be taken. Used. That’s exactly what happens. Before Lee can come down from the high of the experience the stud is gone and Lee composes himself to go home.

What will his boyfriend, Tony, think of what happened at the club. Consenting and knowing are two different things. Not all is as it seems and Nico Jaye does a fine job of keeping the emotion and suspense of the night at the club on a precipice. The thrill of what Lee is doing at the club with consent is exciting as we live it through Lee. That moment of discovery once he’s back home with Tony is a great twist and mostly unexpected because we’re so absorbed with Lee and his excitement and arousal at Hard Candy!

Hard Candy

Nico Jaye takes us back to the first time Tony goes to the club, Hard Candy. Dragged there by a few coworkers, Tony is on his way out the door when he hears a man clearly in distress. Lee finds himself in a predicament and Tony saves him. So begins a night of easy conversation and drinks.

Tony doesn’t live far and invites Lee over to meet his dog, Sadie, and for a nightcap. This is a short story so the chemistry has to be flash hot and believable. Lee pretty much hangs on Tony’s every word. He’s super turned on by the buff, muscled, furry, older man. Not the typical guy that frequents the club. Tony is just as consumed with Lee. His soft, tan skin, luscious lips and little gasps just about take Tony down before they ever get out of the club!

Once at Tony’s, it is game on! They’re on fire in the bedroom but still very sensual and sweet. Lee is ready and wanting. Tony is more than willing to rock his world, literally and figuratively! There’s a deeper connection than just being there for a one-off. These two want to get to know each other and put in the time. Lee just might not ever leave the comfort of Tony’s arms.

So stunningly sweet….. and sexy!

Nico Jaye always captivates me with her words. I hope you enjoy her works as much as I do!

Theater manager Teddy Carbone’s life has gone pretty much according to script… until now.

To his surprise, Teddy finds himself co-owner of the Oasis Theater with Carter Monroe, a corporate shark who’s looking at him like he’s chum in the water. Being in charge of the theater is one thing, but having to deal with Carter and his demands is another. With Carter’s proposed plan to sell the Oasis looming, Teddy must convince Carter the theater is worth saving. When he introduces the bright, bold world of the stage to Carter’s cold, all-business lifestyle, though, Teddy soon comes to recognize that the Oasis might not be the only thing he has a chance to save.

Our Thoughts:

Nico Jaye has done it again, a book with all the feels! Unscripted is a good-natured, sweet yet burning story from the new Heartsville series. A bit of an introduction to the series and men I’m sure will present themselves more in their own Heartsville stories. Jaye sets the stage with a successful theater manager and a high-powered businessman. Their paths cross when they both inherit one half of the Oasis Theater from Richard, Teddy’s boss and friend and Carter’s uncle.

Carter is successful, business oriented and powerful. He has a way about him that oozes confidence and demands compliance. Teddy is more carefree and emotional. When they collide over the possible sale of the Oasis theater it’s combustible at best. They both give into urges, lust and desire.

Now they have to backtrack and try the dating scene to figure out if they even like each other enough to be together.

The pages just flew by! Jaye keeps the flow going with witty conversation and flirty moments. When Carter and Teddy are together it’s a little bit domination and submission and a whole load of erotic desire. This book will leave a smile on your face and your heart happy!

Our Thoughts:

A fireman and a geek! Loved it before I even read a page, but it’s Nico Jaye so going into reading this story I knew it would be all I could hope for. Of course, it was!

David Waterman is a professor of Medieval Studies, newly appointed at Cal Berkeley. It’s his dream job: better money, living in a liberal city and owning his own home. It’s everything he could have hoped for. The new neighborhood is nice and most of the neighbors are friendly. When one such friendly neighbor’s dog terrorizes David’s cat up a tree, it’s the handsome hunk from the blue house across the street that saves the day. It seems he’s a professional at ‘cat up a tree’ rescues. Why? Because he’s a hunky fireman! Swoon!

David is soon bombarded with a lot of nice gestures from the hottie from the blue house, Zach Ford. David is so not in the same league as Zach. He isn’t sure what to make of the attention. He can’t let his heart hope that Zach is interested in him. Who would be? He’s a bit soft, with a little pudge around the middle and he’s book smart. He’s been out of the dating game so long he’s not sure he could muster the strength to even pursue Zach. Who, as you can guess, is suave and rock hard from his endless muscles. He’s also genuinely kind-hearted.

I like how these two dance around what they really want, each other! Neither one assumes the other is interested. It’s like neighborly kindness becomes borderline dating with easy conversation. I like these two together. They’re not pretentious. They’re always kind and sweet and, again, unassuming. All they need is a little nudge to steer them in the right direction. Of course, that’s if Zach is even gay and interested in a medieval studies instructor.

An all around feel good story from start to finish. Characters with depth, you’ll love and cheer for. They’re also not beneath saving themselves, which is a nice change from the norm. Indulge with this story from Nico Jaye!

Excerpt:

“I love making you gasp,” Jon said, the glint in his eyes holding a hint of mischief. He stroked Tanner’s cock with a strong grip, eliciting another sharp intake of breath.

“Good?” Jon asked, his brows raised and those sensuous lips curled up in a wicked grin.

“Very,” Tanner growled, then kissed him deeply. His hand firm on Jon’s hip, he nudged him gently. “Now it’s my turn,” he whispered. “My turn to make you gasp until you’re begging.”

Jon’s eyes went wide, and a flare of desire lit in his gaze. “What—what should I do?”

Tanner slowly stroked the warm skin beneath his palm. “It would be easier if you turned over,” he said softly. “Then, after that, you don’t need to do anything except feel.”

The corner of his lip tilting up in a smile of anticipation, Jon followed the suggestion and turned, allowing a pillow to be positioned beneath his hips. With his back arched while lying on his stomach, Jon propped himself on his elbows and twisted around to glance at Tanner seated behind him.

Tanner knelt between Jon’s parted legs, the soft hairs on Jon’s limbs brushing against his own. He stared at Jon’s form: the perfect stretch of skin, the gentle slope of his shoulders, the musculature of his back, the rounded curve of his ass.

Jon was beautiful.

And Jon was his.

Our thoughts:

In typical Nico Jaye fashion, this story was written with a touch of humor, snark and downright entertaining internal and external dialogue. Not one to put herself in a box, Nico Jaye follows up a few contemporaries, with a historical and now a shifter book! This shows her versatility and strength as a writer.

In He’s Just Knot That Into You, Tanner experiences his first shift after moving to Chicago for a new job. This can only mean one very important thing to Tanner, he’s been in contact with his mate. Now, he has a limited time frame in which to locate his mate so they can complete the mating rituals and shift together as mates. Tanner has to physically weed through all the potential mates and the process is extremely entertaining! It’s like speed dating shifter style. :)

Once Tanner determines that his mate is Jon, he promptly disappears. Tanner will stop at nothing to see this process through so he travels to Jon’s family home. Unfortunately, Jon’s back home because darker forces have caused havoc for Jon’s family. Now they have to find time to bond, mate, shift, get rid of the dark force and then find their happily ever after. It’s a tall order! Nico Jaye keeps us on our toes by ramping up the suspense.

Read this one for a nerdy hipster and a man determined to find his mate in a crowd.
