We cannot contain how excited we are to be part of the final blog tour for the Collars & Cuffs series. KC Wells and Parker Williams have brought such diverse characters of depth that it’s sad to see this series come to an end. We celebrate this final book and bring a character interview from Jeff, whom we originally met in his and Damian’s book Damian’s Discipline (book five in the series).

An Interview with Jeff, Damian’s Discipline book 5.

What is your biggest fear?

Losing Damian’s love. You can NOT repeat this to anyone, okay? Damian’s…I don’t know how to describe it. I’ve gone to the club a few times with him, and I see how some of the other Doms are, all larger than life. Damian isn’t like that. Damian has a quiet strength. Even though the relationship we have isn’t a D/s one, the man has still given me the guidance I needed to become a better person than I am. Which, let’s be honest, really wasn’t difficult. I was kind of a shit. Still am, I suppose. But he loves me anyway.

What is your most prized possession?

I bet most people will say something big and extravagant, but not me. My most prized possession is a bronze colored sweater that Damian bought for me when I first moved in with him. I love it because it’s soft and warm, but what really makes it something I can’t bear to be apart from is despite my behavior and the numerous mistakes I made, Damian still bought it for me.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

I’m still working with Ron on woodworking. I’ve gotten to be pretty good, too, or so he says. I like making little things for Damian, but what I really want to do is make him a chest of drawers for his clothes. Something elegant and classy, like he is. Yeah, I know I sound like a sap in love, but maybe that’s because I am. :)

Your best childhood memory?

I don’t have a best childhood memory. Can we move on to the next question please?

Where do you hope to be in five years?

You know, I’m going to be honest…I never thought I’d have a future. I figured one day they’d find my body in the gutter, and I’d be buried in a plot with all the other people no one wanted to claim. But now? In five years I can see myself actually becoming someone. Ron says I’ve got the potential to be a woodworker, and I think to myself that maybe I can do this. I dream…it sounds stupid when I say it out loud…but I thought about opening a shop where people could come in and look at what I’ve made. The prices would be exorbitant, but they would know the quality was worth every penny.

When I first told Damian, I thought he’d laugh, but he got this look on his face, and started asking me what kind of shop I’d look at. He had a friend of his draw up some designs, and show them to me. A big picture window display would show off some of the things I’d worked on, and we’d constantly have to be cleaning the nose and fingerprints off the windows. The store would have natural lighting, and everything would gleam. There’d be so many sales, I’d have to hire someone to take care of the till, while I was in the back creating new things.

It’s years away, if it ever happens, but now that I can see that dream, I want it more than anything. And I think Damian wants it for me.

I love him.

Blurb:

In all his relationships, Darren Fielding never found the level of intimacy he witnessed between Thomas Williams and his sub, Peter, the day of Peter’s “rebirth.” Not only that, he never realized such intimacy was possible. For two years, Thomas’s business card has been burning a hole in his wallet. When Darren’s lover moves on, maybe it’s finally time to see where that card takes him.

Collars & Cuffs’s new barman, JJ Taylor, is really conflicted right now. He went to the club with a very specific purpose, already convinced of what he’d find there. Except it’s not what he expected at all. He certainly didn’t anticipate finding himself drawn to the new wannabe Dom. Nor could he have guessed the direction that attraction would lead him.

Old love, new love, vows, pain, rage, moving in, moving on…. The members of Collars & Cuffs face an event that touches some of them deeply, but it will only reinforce what they already know: together they are stronger, and some bonds cannot be broken.

Excerpt:

“Honey, I’m home.”

Alex laughed and came out of the kitchen to greet his husband. “We’ve talked about this, right? You do not walk into this apartment and talk to me like I’m the little wife.”

Leo kissed him soundly on the cheek. “Aw, but you’d look great in an apron, holding a glass of beer out for your weary, hard-working hubby.” He smirked. “And besides, no one in their right mind would call you little.”

Alex quirked his eyebrows. “One, you don’t drink beer, which is why there’s a glass of chilled chardonnay on the living room table, waiting for you. Two, excuse me—weary? Hard-working? You’ve been standing around in leather chaps and a harness, watching while guys do all manner of things to each other, which probably included a lot of fucking, because, hey, it’s Saturday night, right?”

Leo sighed happily. “What can I say? I love my job.”

Meet K.C. Wells:

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

Meet Parker Williams (or at least his voices):

Good day! We are the voices that live inside Will’s head. The ones who whisper to him constantly, beckoning him to speak of our adventures, to tell of our love, and perhaps, if we’re in a mood, kill a person or two.

We guide his hand as he tells our tales where love is the most powerful force, but must be worked for, molded, and finally, embraced. There can be no shortcuts or substitutions on the path to a happily ever after.

We hope you will join with us as Will fulfills his obligation to ensure our stories are told and, we hope, enjoyed.

Our thoughts:

This is a hard review to write. I have very much enjoyed the Collars and Cuffs series from the beginning. I enjoyed meeting a new couple with each new release, yet having the opportunity to revisit a few of the’old’ couples again in that same release. They felt like family. They stole my heart. They brought happiness, tears, laughs, and emotions so worth feeling.

Endings and Beginnings is the last book in the Collars and Cuffs series. It’s the end for Leo, Thomas, and their boys. But, it’s the beginning of a new club. adventure and potential. Eli and Jared are off to start their own club under the mastery of Thomas and together they will spread the good that has come from Collars and Cuffs.

This novel was really about all the couples and, of course, one new relationship with Darren and JJ. They’re all coping with a big development. Something that impacted so many of their lives and impacted the club as a whole. We know Darren from when Thomas took Peter for his shaving prior to his rebirth. JJ is a new barman at the club but he’s got a secret that could be a game charger, impacting those he knows. Of course with this fantastic and caring group, he’s nothing to worry himself over.

Darren was passionate and takes to learning to master quite well. I liked how JJ and Darren learn together and really connect. JJ finally finds himself and that good; because, he was so twisted and confused. He realizes how much he ran from everything and how wrong that was, and unfair.

Peter has to stand up and remember his training and his progress. That big piece of news almost shatters him and pulls him away from Thomas and all he’s done to help him. Of course, Thomas will always provide and take care of his boy. Peter has grown the most of all the guys and I felt he deserved to be a big part of this story. We can leave this series knowing he’s alright and so much stronger.

I look forward to the next chapter. I grudgingly leave this series behind but I leave knowing it will be one I recommend to everyone and would read over and over again. Thank you KC Wells and Parker Williams. You wrote your hearts out and it shows on the pages of these eight books.

Haven’s Creed by Parker Williams

HavensCreed-400x600Haven’s Creed by Parker Williams

Release Date: December 14, 2015

Pages or Words: 95,000 words

Publisher: Parker Williams

Categories: Contemporary, Gay Fiction, Thriller, some romantic elements, some dark and violent imagery

Blurb:

An act of violence destroys his family and ends the life he knows. To escape his haunted past, he joins the military, where, as a sniper, he is trained to kill with precision and detachment. When a covert organization offers him a new purpose, he becomes Haven, an operative devoted to protecting the innocent when he can and avenging them when he cannot.

After ten years of battling the evil in the world, the life no longer holds the attraction or meaning it once had, and he’s ready to walk away. Then he meets Samuel, a young man forced from the age of twelve to work as a sex slave. If ever a man had a need for Haven, it is this one.

Yet nothing about this growing relationship is one-sided. Sammy gives Haven a stability he’s never known, and Haven becomes the rock upon which Sammy knows he can depend.

When Sammy reveals something about the enemy Haven has been hunting for months, Sammy fears it will destroy what they’ve built and he’ll lose his home in Haven’s heart.

Warning: This book contains violent and dark scene

Our Thoughts:

With all the warnings that came with this book, I was expecting quite the gruesome scene! If you’re worried the book will be too graphic, don’t be. I found the violence to be fitting of the situation and the author, Parker Williams, didn’t romanticized or embellish the violence just to make the reader squirm.

I found Haven’s Creed to be was more of a story about overcoming terrible events of the past for both Haven and Samuel. Haven could never get over losing his sister and his loss of innocence when he kills her abuser/attacker. That day he was forever changed. That kill made him lose a piece of his soul and with it went his youth and innocence.

For Samuel, being pawned off to a sex ring by his own mother was unforgivable. He quickly came to accept his fate and tried to be as strong as he could, given the situation. His need was to nurture as he never was, to get some level of control back into his life.

I was surprised by a few things in Haven’s Creed. First, Haven was the big, bad, highly trained operative but he became the most needy of the two men. It was like he was having a mental breakdown and badly needed the support and structure that Samuel desperately wanted to give. Secondly, the contradiction of the dominant role for Samuel. He was so timid and scared around everyone but Haven. When Haven was in the room, Samuel fed off his strength and also Haven’s need for dominance and to be taken care of.

Haven’s mission was always to remove his targets. Yes, he got a bit close and personal with those associated with Valerie’s organization. Those kills he needed to see the moment the perps realized he wasn’t going to show them an ounce of mercy, just like their victims. Samuel was there for Haven at the end of a mission. A safe place to fall and release the stress and sadness of the job without being judged. They needed each other more and more as the missions progressed and became more taxing.

There are a lot of trigger warning for this novel that readers should be aware of. If you don’t like any mentions of child abuse, sexual abuse, child slavery, dub con, non con, rape, torture, kidnapping, or violence you might want to consider that they’re part of Haven’s Creed. Most are only mentioned, not acted out on the pages. I will say the only trigger that is prevalent and in detail is violence and torture. Afterall, Haven is a trained killer and he gets the job done for those who lost their innocence at the hands of these dirt bags.

An interesting story from start to finish. There’s so much going on with the mission to take down Valerie’s organization and with Haven. Add in poor Samuel and there’s never a lull in the story.

RATING: BAD ASS BOOTS!

Welcome, Parker! Thanks for taking time to answer a few questions for us. You seem to be our favorite author of the month with Dom of Ages, a BDSM m/m romance release with KC Wells, and now a darker thriller with Haven’s Creed. We appreciate the glimpse into Samuel’s world before Haven’s arrival.

An Interview with Samuel Morin from Haven’s Creed:

What is the best gift you ever gave?

The best gift I ever gave? It was to Tim. Arianna told me that he was going to be coming to pick me up to celebrate his birthday. Up until that time, Tim and I never touched. He liked to tell me stories, and really appreciated the fact that I listened to him. When we got to his house, I hugged him. At first, I thought I had done something wrong, because when I looked up, he was crying. I apologized and tried to pull away. He said no, please don’t, it’s been so long since someone hugged me.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Right now I would take any damn subject you want me to. Just, please, let me out of this place.

What is the last thing you tell your partner before bed?

Nothing. They don’t pay for me to talk with them. Once they get what they want, Arianna or Amber comes to collect me.

What is your motto?

Whatever doesn’t kill me will probably make me wish it had.

What is your biggest strength?

I won’t give up. Somehow I know that I’ll get out of this place. At least I hope to hell I will.

Excerpt:

When I was fifteen, I killed my first man. Every time Arnie, the guy my mother was shacking up with at the time, drank, he got it into his head she was cheating on him. He’d start slapping her, and that turned into full-fledged beating within a few months. When he was done, he’d start on my sister.

There were nights she’d crawl into bed with me, sobbing. For the longest of times, she wouldn’t tell me what happened, but when I found blood on her pajamas, I knew. I’d tried to stand up to him, but he beat me badly enough that I couldn’t go to school for two weeks until the bruises faded. But I got off lucky. The things he did to Chrissy gave me nightmares. I’d hear her cry out and knew there was nothing I could do but hide in my bed, my pillow covering my head. He was bigger, meaner, and stronger than me, and he reminded me of that fact constantly.

The old lady never said boo about it. She always forgave him and tried to justify what he did by telling me how much stress he was under. How he was a good man and didn’t mean it. It was just the drinking, she swore. It was more like he was a bastard and she was his meal ticket.

I came home one night and found him whaling on her, my sister’s body crumpled in a heap, her head smashed in. The son of a bitch had a gun in his hand, slick with blood, and he threatened to kill them both, screaming he wouldn’t let her leave. She slapped him. It wasn’t hard, but it shocked him enough that he dropped the gun. I picked it up. He sneered at me and called me a weak-willed fag.

I looked at the gun I held in my hand. The instrument of my revenge. The means to saving my sister.

“Give me the gun, you fuck. It’s not a dick, you wouldn’t know what to do with it.”

The bullet I put in his forehead showed him how wrong he was. He lay on the floor, blood bubbling from the wound, and his eyes locked on mine as he took his last breath. I wanted that fucker to know it was the weak-willed fag who had done this to him.

When we secured a spot for Parker Williams’ blog tour, we asked him what he would like to share with his fans? A tell all? After much back and forth banter, Parker sent the following to me. I asked if it was his official guest post and we decided to go with it. It’s fun and different and so very Parker Williams. Welcome to 3 Chicks After Dark, Parker!

From Parker Williams:

I have fans? Besides the one on the table next to me, I mean.

OOH! How about this….My writing distractions.

Brownie 2

Brownie. Otherwise known as demon dog. She gets it into her head that NOW is the time she MUST be petted, and it doesn’t matter what you’re doing.

SadieCider

Sadie (dog) and Cider (cat). Sadie is very laid-back. She rarely asks for anything, unless it’s time for food or a noshie. THEN she gets very vocal. Cider, on the other hand, is a constant source of amusement. He’s forever wanting to be touched and loved and petted and, oh yeah, he likes my mushrooms and is wild about mustard.

Casey

Casey as a puppy. He’s a goof. When he thinks it’s time to go out, he will sit next to my chair and put his paw on my leg and stare at me. He also likes to wrestle with Cider.

Korey

Corey, who fell in love with Anne Tenino’s penis. (Don’t ask, but I am not retracting that statement.)

Star

Star is very camera shy. She’s also 17 years old. When she decides it’s time to be cuddled, you will stop what you’re doing, because she needs to be loved and you will damn well do as you’re told.

FullSizeRender 2

Star, Cider, and Toeby (he’s got a foot fetish)

Those are my in-house distractions. Then we have things like this:

15 - 1-14

ablicious

And once I get started on those, ain’t no work getting done.

Scent of the HeartBlurb:

Casey Scott grew up being told he’d never amount to anything, and despite the unwavering
love and support from his best friend, Jake, the idea sticks in the back of Casey’s mind. When he discovers he has a unique destiny in an enclave where shifters and humans live together, he seizes the chance, wanting for once in his life to be someone special.

Tsvetok Yerokhin lost his parents to the evil ruler of the enclave when he was a boy. The
responsibilities of raising his two younger brothers nearly overwhelmed him and self-doubt
took over. When the new Alpha and his Protector arrive in time to save his life, Sev is grateful, but he’s even more shocked when he scents his mate with them.

Casey isn’t prepared for the feelings that sweep over him when he meets Sev, but he refuses to act on them because he’s straight. Still, there is something so alluring about Sev that Casey can’t help being drawn to him.

As the two explore the edges of their new discovery, an evil returns, determined to control the enclave or destroy it. The Alpha and Protector are powerless to stop it, but Casey holds the key to victory. If he can discover what it is, he has a chance to save them all. To be the hero.

Unfortunately, the hero has to be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, and for Casey that means losing his heart.

Excerpt:

“This night is shot,” Casey mumbled. “Hakii, if you’re there, I’m sorry. I need to find him. I’ll try to be back as soon as I can. Oh, and if you’re not there, I hope you’re getting a damn good laugh at me talking to myself.”

The night air had chilled considerably. Casey threw on a sweater and hurried to the Alpha’s house. Before he could pound on the door, it swung open. Jake stood there wearing nothing at all.

“Oh god, my eyes.”

Jake sighed. “You’ve seen me before. A lot, if I recall correctly.”

“And every time I do, I remember that I need to create eye bleach.”

Jake faked a laugh. “Yeah, you’re hilarious. What do you want?”

“A guy came to my house tonight. His name is Sev, and I think he’s in trouble.”

All humor fled from Jake’s face. “What happened?”

Casey told him about the visit. “He…called me his mate. What the hell is that about?”

“Later. We’ve got to find him.”

In an instant, Jake transformed into a beautiful black jaguar. Zak came rushing to the door. “What is wrong?”

Before Casey could answer, Zak grabbed a heavy coat and squirmed into it. “Jake will track him. You will come with us.”

“Zak, he called me his mate. Why would he do that?”

“You worry about this now? I do not see where this matters. If you prefer, you may stay behind.”

Casey sobered immediately. “No, you’re right. I’m sorry.”

They tracked Jake as he hurried to the woods. When they heard him roar, Zak and Casey ran to the edge of the forest. Jake had transformed back to his human form and, man, was he pissed.

“Come out here, now,” he demanded.

There was no movement, but Casey heard a clicking noise, followed by the familiar stamping of feet.

“You spray me and I swear to the gods I will neuter you. Put your damn tail down and face us as a man, Sev.”
