Sex and Candy
Lee may be in a relationship with Tony, but that little fact doesn’t stop Lee when Tony agrees to allow him one wild night of no inhibitions. With excitement thrumming through his veins, Lee finds himself letting loose at Hard Candy, a popular cruise-worthy dance club known for its sweet Candymen and even sweeter one night stands. Under the club’s pulsing lights, he meets a mysterious man in leather, and things soon get hot and heavy as Lee rediscovers his submissive side under the Dom’s firm yet loving guidance.

When Lee returns home to Tony, though, will he face repercussions for his night of passion? Or is their relationship not quite as it appears?

Candy Rain
With a stressful week on the job behind him, construction company owner Tony Morelli is ready for a night curled up on the couch with his dog, a couple of DVDs, and some takeout to keep him company. When a few guys from his crew convince him to join them at the steamy nightclub Hard Candy, Tony’s skeptical at best about his chances of having a good time. Bumping into gorgeous Lee, though, could change his mind, and they share a drink and conversation ripe with the potential to lead to so much more.

However, Tony doesn’t really do casual, and he has to ask himself if all he’d be left with are sweet memories of a night with Lee–and whether those memories would ever be enough.

Meet the author:

Nico Jaye is a fan of all things HEA and has dragged her romance collection along for her moves from San Francisco to Los Angeles to Chicago to New York and back. She thinks reading is awesome and loves that she can hang out night after night with crinoline-wearing debutantes, brawny firemen in suspenders, and werewolf shifters with Scottish brogues. An overall feline enthusiast, Nico secretly (or not so secretly?) adores Hello Kitty, cat GIFs, spontaneous traveling, pretending to be crafty, emoticons, hot menfolk, and parenthetical statements (not necessarily in that order). After starting as the pitcher for Team Awesome (literally) and visiting places like South Africa, Oman, and Fiji, Nico discovered that letting the boys in her head tell her where they want to go could actually be the most exciting journey of all.

Excerpt From Sex and Candy:

Finally, after a few minutes—a few hours…a few days—passed, Lee saw the light filtering through the slats darken as he heard footsteps stop outside the door. His pulse pounding in his ears, he backed away from it when the knob turned.

It’s happening.

Lee’s heart stuttered.

Amber eyes met thickly-lashed brown, and the dark-haired newcomer’s lips quirked upon eye contact. Lee swallowed hard and, without a word, sank to his knees.

A low chuckle filled the space. The lock clicked, and strong fingers gripped Lee’s chin. Lee’s eyes fluttered shut as the dark head bent closer. Firm lips pressed against his own, a tongue sliding out to sweep along the seam. Lee’s lips parted to give entrance, but the other man had already pulled away. His voice was raspy when he spoke. “Good boy,” he murmured. “I see you’ve made a decision.”

Lee glanced up and caught a wicked gleam in those dark brown eyes. Even though he was a foot away, he was at eye level with a leather-covered bulge, and his tongue sat heavy in his mouth, desperate for a taste. Lee felt his heart race as he replied. “Yes, Sir. My—My mouth, please. Please put your cock in my mouth.”

Lee watched wide-eyed as that dark gaze flashed at the polite yet scandalous request. Sir’s full lips curled up as he stepped closer, bringing with him a hint of cologne and the heady scent of pure man. “First,” he corrected, those thick fingers carding through Lee’s hair before gripping his head firmly. “Please put my cock in your mouth first.”

Our thoughts:

Sex and Candy

This was such a fun story to read the first time, I was excited to come back to it and do a reread. Had to get all those feelings back before reading the companion short, Hard Candy.

Lee has permission from his boyfriend to go out and have one night at the club where they first met. A free pass for Lee to go dance and hook-up with someone without repercussions.

Standing near the bar, Lee finds the guy he knows he’s going to pursue. A muscle stud with dark hair and a tattoo up his arm. Just enough bad boy to seem dark and dangerous. Their eyes meet, the bad boy walks over and it is game on!

Moments later, Lee is in the bathroom with his pants down, electric blue jock on display for the stud and waiting to be taken. Used. That’s exactly what happens. Before Lee can come down from the high of the experience the stud is gone and Lee composes himself to go home.

What will his boyfriend, Tony, think of what happened at the club. Consenting and knowing are two different things. Not all is as it seems and Nico Jaye does a fine job of keeping the emotion and suspense of the night at the club on a precipice. The thrill of what Lee is doing at the club with consent is exciting as we live it through Lee. That moment of discovery once he’s back home with Tony is a great twist and mostly unexpected because we’re so absorbed with Lee and his excitement and arousal at Hard Candy!

Hard Candy

Nico Jaye takes us back to the first time Tony goes to the club, Hard Candy. Dragged there by a few coworkers, Tony is on his way out the door when he hears a man clearly in distress. Lee finds himself in a predicament and Tony saves him. So begins a night of easy conversation and drinks.

Tony doesn’t live far and invites Lee over to meet his dog, Sadie, and for a nightcap. This is a short story so the chemistry has to be flash hot and believable. Lee pretty much hangs on Tony’s every word. He’s super turned on by the buff, muscled, furry, older man. Not the typical guy that frequents the club. Tony is just as consumed with Lee. His soft, tan skin, luscious lips and little gasps just about take Tony down before they ever get out of the club!

Once at Tony’s, it is game on! They’re on fire in the bedroom but still very sensual and sweet. Lee is ready and wanting. Tony is more than willing to rock his world, literally and figuratively! There’s a deeper connection than just being there for a one-off. These two want to get to know each other and put in the time. Lee just might not ever leave the comfort of Tony’s arms.

So stunningly sweet….. and sexy!

Nico Jaye always captivates me with her words. I hope you enjoy her works as much as I do!

Without further ado, Thinking Mushy Thoughts by Jessie G!!

Thinking Mushy Thoughts by Jessie G and hosted by 3 Chicks After Dark

Ty frowned when he saw Kyle’s car parked in the driveway. He didn’t begrudge Chase time with his cousin, but his boy always confirmed before inviting company over. After a long day in the shop working on an intricately detailed custom build, all he wanted to do was relax with his little family and unwind. Well, that wasn’t all he wanted, but for the kids he could be patient until bed time rolled around to get what he really needed—Chase.

As Ty parked the bike in the garage, his frown turned into a scowl when he realized that Chase’s car was missing. Not confirming company was bad enough, but not letting Ty know he was going out was completely unacceptable, especially after the Alicia incident. That was the only day in their relationship that Chase was not where he was supposed to be and Ty knew he wasn’t over the helplessness that he felt when he realized what was happening.

With fear stoking mere annoyance into anger, Ty tossed his gloves on the bike seat and stalked into the house, ready to wreak havoc on Kyle and whoever else might be with him. The sight that greeted him wiped away the stress that followed him home, the annoyance, and the lingering fear that was entirely too close to the surface for his liking.

It didn’t take a second to realize what he already knew deep down—that Chase would never willfully defy him without a damn good reason. Later he’d have to take the time to examine his reaction and the cause for it before it became an issue between them. Now, though, he’d take comfort in his lover’s arms.

A naked Chase stood just out of reach of the swinging door, feet braced shoulder width apart, hands clasped at the small of his back, and his head held high. He was truly a sight to behold and Ty paused, letting all the negative feelings leech away so that he could revel in this gift before him.

“Kyle and Javi picked up the kids an hour ago for a sleep over,” Chase said before he could ask, obviously recognizing the tension in his body for what it was. “Normally, I would have asked first, but I wanted to surprise you.”

Chase had complete autonomy to make decisions for the children, though he normally did confirm them with Ty. That he would spread those wings to arrange some private time for them was perfectly Chase. His focus remained Ty’s wants, needs, and pleasure. For those reasons and all the other ways in which Chase made his life complete, it was Ty’s privilege to make sure Chase was happy as he made them. Allowing his unresolved issues to take a second of Chase’s happiness wasn’t something he was willing to repeat.

Ty let the door swing shut behind him and walked a slow circle around Chase, taking in the perfect lines of his posture. He stroked one finger down that straight spine, the touch feather light, causing Chase to shiver and moan. Ty continued his slow perusal, only stopping when they were toe to toe and those mismatched eyes were gazing up at him. “You’re stunning, Chase.”

“Thank you, Master.” Ty could see the pride in Chase’s eyes and smiled when those already straight shoulders inched back a notch. “Dinner’s warming in the oven if you’re hungry.”

He was, but not for food. Instead he reached down, grabbed two handfuls of Chase’s ass and snatched him right up off the floor. Chase squeaked in surprise, throwing his arms and legs around Ty before he unbalanced them, and blinked in confusion. He knew better to assume or anticipate, and right now Ty’s need to have his boy in his arms overrode any desire for the kink that was woven into the fabric of their lives. If that was a residual from the earlier spike of fear, so be it.

Ty leaned in, taking Chase’s mouth in searing kiss that had those strong limbs tightening around him. That immediate response was everything he needed and he pressed Chase against him, grinding them together. They had all night to explore and taking the edge off now would allow them to play longer later.

He tore away from that irresistible mouth and asked, “Lube?”

If the kids were gone for the night, then he knew Chase would have stashed supplies around the house so they could play wherever he wanted. “On the coffee table.”

Ty turned with Chase still in his arms and crossed the living room. He snagged the bottle and handed it to Chase before continuing his journey out the patio doors. He didn’t stop until they were at the fire pit, well within view of any small boats or peeping neighbors. It’d been a while since his exhibitionist got the thrill of an audience. Didn’t matter if anyone was there or not, it was the possibility that they could be that was enough of a thrill for Chase.

He dropped him onto a double lounger and stood back to quickly shuck his clothes. Chase watched his hands, clearly wanting to do the task himself, and Ty knew the little denial would add another layer to his boy’s need. When his clothes were nothing by a pile on the brick, he grabbed his dick and stroked as Chase licked his lips in anticipation. It was tempting—Chase’s mouth was made for his dick—but there was no way he would last, so he denied that too.

“Slick yourself.” Ty nodded to the bottle of lube clearly forgotten where it had fallen.

With obvious reluctance, Chase tore his gaze away and focused on getting the bottle open so he could pour out a generous dollop. Then he drew his legs up and out, baring himself to Ty’s gaze as deft fingers sought out his tight hole. That gaze came back to his as Chase fingered himself, his throaty moans traveling on the tropical breeze. Ty remained standing, watching and stroking and waiting for the sign that Chase was nearing his breaking point.

Only then did Ty order, “Stand up and turn around.”

Chase was off the lounger before the words were done, his back to Ty’s front, his body vibrating in anticipation of what would come next. Ty pressed a hand between his shoulder blades until Chase was bent at the waist, his hands on the lounger with his ass high in the air. Then Ty grabbed him by the hips, holding him still as he wedged his cock between perfect ass cheeks to thrust up and down.

“Master!” Chase cried out and pressed back, but Ty wasn’t ready to give in.
He continued to tease, drawing it out as long as he could, until neither of them could take another second, before he shifted position and slid home. Chase was his home in every way possible. It didn’t matter where they were, who they were with or what was going on around them, as long as Chase was at his side, he was home.
Ty eased back, watching the slide of his cock until just the tip was holding Chase open. “Tell me.”

The demand was punctuated with a vicious thrust that pushed Chase and the lounger forward, but the words he needed to hear were strong and clear. “I love you, Master.”

He curled one hand around Chase’s throat, urging him up until they were pressed chest to back. “Look at me and tell me right.”

Chase turned his head, his eyes glazed and his lips swollen as if he’d been biting them. “I love you, Ty.”

Ty grunted in approval and slammed his mouth over Chase’s, taking his wild cries and heartfelt declarations inside. Strong hands sank into his hair as Chase reached back, seeking as much contact as he could while he buffeted Ty’s aggression. The words did that to him—made him feel aggressive, possessive, primal, and each snap of his hips declared that Chase was his to anyone privileged enough to watch the show. To the Gods that tried to take Chase away from him.

“You’re mine,” he growled. “Mine.”

“Yours,” Chase agreed desperately. “Your boy, your precious possession.”

Yes, Chase was all those things and so much more. “My love.”

Tears filled those eyes he adored and fell freely down flushed cheeks. “Ty.”

Such a simple name, just two letters, but hearing it fall from Chase’s lips with such emotion was enough to push him right to the edge. Ty reached down to grip Chase’s erection and asked, “Ready?”

Chase whimpered, nodded, then cried out when Ty thrust hard, driving him forward through the tight fist Ty had around his cock. Chase convulsed hard, his ass squeezing until Ty had no choice but to give into the orgasm that had been hovering ever since he walked through the door and found him waiting.

Ty eased them down to the lounger and together they watched the sun set on another beautiful day. “Thank you.”

Chase looked over and frowned thoughtfully, “For what?”

The list was endless, but Ty knew just how to sum it up. “For loving me.”

Forgetting the sunset, Chase shifted until he was nestled beneath Ty’s chin. They’d get to dinner and the toy box eventually, for now all they needed was each other.

Meet Jessie G:

Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I’d begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: to be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With six published books to date, three series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it’s been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I’m a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout my books.

There’s Something about a Kilt by Schuyler L’Roux

It’s a hellaciously hot day in Minneapolis and all Thom wants to do is enjoy his ice cream and forget about the stacks of essays waiting for him back in his stifling apartment. Until he meets Gerry, a kilted, tattooed Welshman. The conversation is smooth and the attraction immediate, but Gerry is only in town for the night and isn’t down for anything quick and forgettable. When they meet again, hours later, Gerry knows there’s something in the air and all bets are off. Including his kilt.

Our Thoughts:

Thom is casually enjoying an ice cream when he sees the kilt. His eyes move up. The body and face that are paired with that kilt aren’t too bad to look at either! Thom’s gawking and Gerry’s forwardness lead to a conversation. Both men are a bit cheeky but enjoy the banter. They part ways only to bump into each other again at a club while dancing.

A little bump and grind on the dance floor and they’re both revved and ready to continue this impromptu date somewhere else. The chemistry between Thom and Gerry is explosive. They’re relaxed and in the moment. Enjoying anything and everything. Giving and taking. Their one night is one for the books. One that will be embedded in their memories for some time.

Of course, it has to end. Gerry must leave to go back home, out-of-state.  As he walks away from Thom, it’s obvious that these two will meet up again. I’m sure they’ll be just as fun during their second romp and ‘date.’

I love a short story that makes me laugh, smile and overheat. This one achieved that in abyndance! I’m anxious for more of Thom and Gerry. They sizzle and smolder together but their ease and comfort with each other brings everything up a notch. The chemistry and banter were perfection. They pulled me into their little tryst and left me wanting so much more for them. According to the author, their story isn’t finished. Woot! I truly hope that is true!

The redhead sat down with a fluid grace, sweeping the kilt under his ass and keeping his knees demurely together. The knees dropped apart when he scooted back in the chair, dropping the kilt between his legs. He licked his cone with a tongue even pinker than his lips, though his thick, flexing forearm distracted Thom. The left arm was covered from wrist to elbow in a splash of water, colored wings on fire, and streams of blue.
“I’m Gerry, by the way.”
Thom wrenched his eyes away to look at Gerry’s expectant expression. “Thom.”
“Short for Thomas?”
“Nope, just Thom.”
“Damn, I always had a thing for Thomases.”
Shit, Thom thought.
Gerry looked him up and down, a question sparking in his eyes. “Strange name for an Italian boy.”
Thom shook off the rust and pushed himself along for the ride. No expectations, he reminded himself. “It’s spelled even stranger.”
Gerry blinked in surprise. “With an ‘h’?”
“My mom loved the Scots.” Thom pointed down to Gerry’s kilt. “Must be genetic. You popped up like a fantasy from when I was thirteen.”
Gerry laughed, waggling his cone like a warning. “Oh, careful there boyo. I’m Welsh. We don’t take kindly to mistaken identity.”
“At least I didn’t call you English.”
Gerry grinned. “Fair enough.” He pointed at Thom’s forgotten ice cream as he took another lick. “Aren’t you worried about that melting?”
Thom shrugged and shot Gerry a sly smile. “I’m easily distracted.” He bit into a large chunk of ice cream and cone, shivering at the burst of cold. “What brings you here?”
“Just a little treat before I get to business.”
“Oh, what do you do?”
Jesus, Thom thought. This guy is a walking hard-on with my name written all over it. Thankfully, he managed to say something else. “Which firm?”
Gerry shook his head. “I’m from L.A. Just in for the day.”
Thom nodded, hiding his disappointment in another bite. “I don’t want to keep you,” he said before catching himself with a smile. “Sorry, that’s a lie. I do. What are you up to after work?”
“More work,” Gerry said after a lick. “I’ve got an overrun project and frayed nerves to placate. They’ve tied me up in meetings from now until midnight.”
Thom looked skeptical. “Now? You’ve got a strange definition of ‘now.’”
Gerry laughed. “Like I said, frayed nerves. I’m hoping that by the time I roll in, tragically indisposed by inexplicable summer traffic, everyone will be desperate for a solution.” He smiled again, and Thom’s stomach flipped. “Anyway, I never come into Minneapolis without stopping by Sebastian’s.
“Look who’s talking,” Gerry continued. “What’s your excuse for skipping work on a Friday afternoon?”
Thom arched a dark, plucked eyebrow. “Priority number one for a small business owner is the sanity of his employees.”
“My air conditioning’s broke,” Thom said with a shrug. “My place is like a sauna. I had to get out of there.”
“So, ice cream instead of the library?”
“Like you said, who can come downtown without stopping by?”
Gerry swirled his ice cream. “What do you do?”
“I teach and write.”
Gerry considered Thom with a light smile. “So, I’m trying to think of a more interesting question than the obvious.”
“What’s the obvious?”
“Hmm…I’m guessing the popular choice is ‘have I read anything of yours?’”
“Basically. Want to guess the second?”
Gerry narrowed his eyes, rolling them up to think. He shook his head.
“I’ll give you a clue,” said Thom, leaning over his ice cream. “It was one of the first questions my mama asked me when I told her I landed a writing gig out here.”
Gerry barked a laugh. “‘Do you write for a gay magazine?’”
Thom cocked his finger like a gun and ‘shot’ Gerry. “Hers was more heavily inflected with disappointed sighs, but pretty much.”
They smiled at each other as their laughter faded. Gerry broke the spell, looking at his wristwatch. He looked up with apology evident in his suddenly knit eyebrows.
“Gotta go?” asked Thom.
“Sad to say,” said Gerry, standing up. “It was fun chatting.”
Thom’s heart stammered. He licked his suddenly dry lips. “I know you said you’re busy with work. But if you get out early, I’m going dancing with some friends.” Keeping his eyes on Gerry was near impossible with his heart hammering so hard, but he kept it up. “Can I give you my number?”
“I leave tomorrow, Thom.”
“And I’m not looking for a fuck and run.”
“Who says I am?” Thom asked, more out of reflex than honesty.
Gerry placed a hand on his surprisingly slim waist. “You’re saying if I wasn’t down, you wouldn’t mind coming with me and then never again?”
Thom couldn’t help the smile that danced over his lips. He leaned back in his chair to look up at Gerry. “I wouldn’t mind coming, sure. But I may very well regret the never coming again part.”
Gerry grinned. “Clever boy.”
“I try.”

Jason has planned a perfect night in — good food, fine wine, a sensual shared bath and a naughty BDSM scene. But when his master, Adrian, goes into the office instead, Jason won’t be taken for granted any longer. Discovering a dominant side he never knew he possessed, he’s about to give Adrian a Valentine’s treat he’ll never forget.

“When this is all over, we’ll go away somewhere for a few days. Tell you what, I’ll book us into The Hideaway. How does that sound?”

It sounds pretty good. Jason and Adrian had spent a memorable Christmas at The Hideaway, a boutique hotel in the New Forest that catered to those into the BDSM lifestyle and had a fully equipped dungeon for the exclusive use of guests. And now Jason’s mind drifted to thoughts of the punishment he’d received at his master’s hands in that dungeon—the feel of the flogger Adrian wielded so expertly, striking his naked, bound body over and over. But it still doesn’t solve the immediate problem.

Today was February 14th, Valentine’s Day, and he’d planned to give Adrian a night to remember. It would all begin when Adrian stepped through the door after his regular Sunday afternoon run. Jason had vintage Champagne chilling in the fridge, ready to greet his master. He intended to cook him his favourite meal of steak in peppercorn sauce with a green salad and crusty bread, washed down with a glass or two of good Margaux. Then they’d head upstairs, following a trail of dried rose petals Jason had laid up the stairs and along the hall. Jason would run a bath for both of them, perfumed with sandalwood and ylang ylang oil, designed to create a sensuous, arousing mood. He’d wash every inch of Adrian’s gorgeous, muscular body before drying him off with a fluffy bath sheet and leading him into the bedroom. The covers had been strewn with more rose petals, and candles stood by the bed, ready to be lit. Jason intended to serve dessert in bed—strawberries dipped in white chocolate. Of course, some of the chocolate would drip onto their naked bodies, forcing them to lick each other clean. And once they’d eaten their fill, Jason would present Adrian with the present that he’d hidden in the bottom drawer of the bedside cabinet…

Our thoughts:

I was surprised by this short story! I expected a submissive giving the ultimate gift of submission to his lover and Dom. Maybe a new toy and some Valentine’s Day fun in the bedroom with a side of sweet declarations. That’s far from what this short offered!

Adrian is a Dom and his job has caused him to neglect his sub, Jason, more and more over the past few months. Jason had the whole day planned for them for Valentine’s Day: meal, activities, and a new toy for in the bedroom. Jason wants to submit to his lover but he’s never given the chance. Adrian is pulled away, once again, by his work.

Jason decides he’s had enough and is going to turn the tides on his Dom! That lovely gift will be used by Jason on Adrian. Jason wants Adrian to acknowledge what he’s been doing and be disciplined for it.

Now that, was a surprise! At first I wasn’t sure what was going to come of this turn. Adrian was reluctant but as the scene progressed, he was definitely aroused. I think Jason got his point across and Adrian won’t be taking advantage again.

You’ll enjoy this short if you like seeing a different turn of events and seeing a sub up to a little mischief!
